  1. ok so I needed to draw an arc, could do it a hundred ways to draw a line for it. I figured I'm going to probably need it more than once so I came up with this adjustable arc maker, I call it the EZ-ARX.....The back arm has two purposes, it holds the arc at a given distance and also keeps it flat on the table or piece your working on while you draw the line. It folds flat on a hinge for storage.

  3. just my luck, just after I pick up a 17" General this comes my way.....both tools have never been used, were purchased for a school that dropped a program before they got delivered. These 2 tools sat in a warehouse for almost 2 yrs now up for sale for best bid. I put a bid in for $1400 for both tools and will find out 2:00 PM tomorrow.....

  4. On cuban bread, which is the best tasting bread they make. I can easily eat a loaf of Cuban bread by myself as a snack(with nothing on it) and those loafs are 18-28" long. Seriously, every time I decide I hate Tampa and start thinking about moving, I think about Cuban bread and sandwiches and I can't.

  5. This was found on Toolguyd's forum, the only details that were given are Q4 and the pic really sucks..... But looks like a saw made for right handed people and has a rafter hook! Also looking at the pic... where's the battery go? on the side maybe? That's kinda different. Upon further investigation.......

  6. Got it today. And the parts all fit. In summary, the least expensive way to go is to buy the 20v 28oz gun and then buy the 10oz conversion for the 18v gun from DeWalt ServiceNet.

  8. @kornomaniac, I like that you're trying to be all even-handed and whatnot, but it looks like you haven't actually read the thread here. There are dates, and a discussion about searching for the part in various places, including an inquiry with Makita. One retailer coming to the defense of another? Sure, fine, whatever. But you've got to recognize that the (apparent) bias in taking that position requires a bit more rigor. It is long since past the delivery date for the product; I have contacted the retailer outside of this forum (as is mentioned above); and I have received no reply from him. With regard to "jumping" to conclusions: From the vantage of the consumer, the experience has indicated clearly enough that the seller was either over-eager and poorly informed (and in the aftermath unwilling to make his error right) or flat-out dishonest. How much patience has he earned by holding my money and abstaining from communication?

  9. I got the same kit, been eyeing this kit for a while and almost pulled the trigger when I saw it come with free 20V tools, glad I waited! Great to have another backup kit! The only Con that is also a pro is the retention system they have in the case it holds the sockets so when it is a pain to get them out, I usually have to use a wrench to something to pry them out, but I am glad to have the retention system so if I kick the case when open I don't have to worry about the loose sockets flying.

  14. so sure I have a 14" band saw that works perfectly fine but I also have been changing blades to do certain things back and forth so what better way to rectify this problem ....get a second band saw..........17" General will be the next family member......

  15. Pics of the syp. Got the pieces for the top rough cut. Trying to mP out the rest of the pieces on the other. Board right now. I'm going to need to get another piece for sure. Not a big deal. It is cheap enough and thy have two smaller pieces that I saw that either would work. A whole 3 knots in 72bd ft of the syp. Really nice stuff. The Bosch 6 1/4 18v saw had just enough depth to cross cut it. Sent from my Pixel XL using Tapatalk

  16. few more pics of the hickory. the wide piece will be the front of the leg vise. Really want to get some of these pieces rough cut but wondering if i should wait a little longer before doing that or not. the syp is 8/4 pieces. the hickory is 4/4.

  17. I was thinking more handheld power tools used in the shop like a track saw, router, drill, etc. Heavy machines don't move so it doesn't matter if they are corded.

  18. Looks like the 12v version is finally getting released across the pond. I don't know what the guy in the video is saying but I think he successfully swapped the head from his new Flexiclick which is a brushed motor over to one of his EC driver bodies and motor. Pretty cool. I will be importing this kit. Sent from my SM-T310 using Tapatalk

  20. I'd like to see them come out with higher capacity batteries to compete with Milwaukee's high demand, and Dewalt's Flexvolt stuff.. I really like Makita's x2 system, and I think once they come out with larger batteries similar to the red and yellow ones being able to double those up will give Makita a bit of an edge. Excited to see some of the stuff mentioned in this thread so far!

  24. Definitely not a have to have item but when they came out with the 18v version I said if they ever release it in the 12v platform I would snag it up. It's a NAINA item right now. Shipped in from the UK. The attachments seem very well built. Large bearings in the ends. Metal splines at the attachment point. I really like that you can put the other attachments on the right angle attachment.
