  4. Well, these arrived today: I go out of my way to buy a Made-In-USA product, with high hopes, and as soon as I get them into the rack I can see the Phillips shafts are crooked. You can see it in the picture (look at the two longest Phillips). I'm not sure if they're molded that way or just bent, but either way I'm very disappointed. Someone at Channellock doesn't care if his job goes to China. These were bought from Circle C Supply in Bazine, KS. I called them and they're sending out a replacement set, but if this is a manufacturing defect, and I think it is, I have no reason to expect the replacements to be any better. Circle C didn't sound happy about it but they didn't argue. Made in USA.

  6. DeWalt has a lot of 20v and 60v to release. You shouldn't be disappointed. Now if I can just get them to invite me.

  7. I have the 3/8" ratchet, don't use it much but quite like it. Dewalt doesn't have them, not very slide pack friendly. SBD show is next month apparently. Dan mentioned it today I believe

  8. When I bought my hackzall the first cut vibrated like crazy. I was a bit disappointed but it worked so oh well...then I bought Diablo Carbide blades for my Sawzall, I started using them in the Hackzall and it didn't vibrate excessively anymore. I ended up buying the Fuel hackzall and that is great as well. Point is, buy good blades.

  10. Greetings folks, Hoping to dial into some wisdom from anyone familiar with maintenance for an old Craftsman (Atlas) grinder/honer I just acquired. Craftsman is the manufacturer, but I have a feeling that Atlas actually manufactured the machine and they were sold under the Craftsman label. Anyway, the machine is likely 60+ years old (run perfectly well), and I got it as part of a package from an old metal worker. It is mounted to a rolling bench, which I loaded (horizontally) in my truck when I picked it up. When I got home and set the bench right side up, fluid began to drain out of the grinder wheel side of the machine. In I located the Atlas Griner-Hone Manual.pdf online and based on what I've read, I presume the leaking fluid (lubricant) is transmission fluid. The Atlas 2400 manual says to use SAE 90 Transmission Fluid as the lubricant. I am no lubricant/transmission fluid expert, but I've been told there is a big difference between synthetic and regular fluid. If you own or have experience maintaining this machine, my (rookie) question is - What type of fluid (that is currently sold) would you recommend? Appreciate any help! Thanks, Eric

  11. Saw this on "Toolguyd" and thought it looked like a good knife to have on the work bench and decided to order it from Amazon. Got it yesterday and it is a pretty cool knife for a cheap price that will be a nice addition to the garage work bench. I noticed after I ordered this one that they have a 125 year addition for a couple of bucks more that is the same knife with some special branding. I would have got that had I not got this one and still might. Anyway it's a nice little knife at a good price.

  12. Chipping on a one-handed rotary hammer isn't a high priority for me. I have always said that the M12 Fuel rotary hammer is one of the best tools they make. This seems like a logical step forward. Making it 18v means I still get to stay on one battery platform, and for that, I very grateful! Makita was smart to develop a compact line of tools that can be configured for 18v or 12v. It really fills in a gap for guys who want compact without sacrificing power or changing battery platforms! 19. the stapler and modular storage were best announcements in my opinion. Most of the other stuff just seemed like upgrades.

  20. Took a quick spin through Twitter and looked like the big news was the M12 stapler.... Milton would be so "excited" for a red stapler like that!

  24. You should be able to convert anything. The problem is a decent 2000psi reel is going to cost as much as the pressure washer.

  30. I've heard stories of non-OEM batteries melting but haven't actually seen much evidence either way. I think it's clear the quality isn't anywhere near as good but I would be interested in reading about someone who's used these knock-off batteries for an extended period of time and get their feedback.
