G’day all, I’m wanting to get the most out of my M18 (FIFW12) 1/2” square driver without having to buy a seperate 1/4” hex driver. I’ve bought an adapter tool from eBay that fits on the 1/2” anvil and takes a 1/4” hex bit. They’re quite a common tool, so much so, that Milwaukee makes one (certainly better quality). I have used both adapters and they cannot perform the work load that I require. I am digging for anyone who has replaced their standard 1/2” anvil with a “hollow” anvil that has a 1/4” hex rebate. I’m aware of other brands that have these anvils fitted from factory and there seems to be no end of aftermarket anvils (pictured below) on eBay, but none that seems to substitute the Milwaukee anvils outright. If anyone has done what I am aiming to do and has any information pertaining to my predicament I would greatly appreciative for your advice. Cheers

Well finally some details about the first Mower offered by Milwaukee scheduled to be available in April. Claims of 10ft/lbs of torque (more than a 200cc ICE mower) Highest was 8.3lb/ft (Ego I think) It uses a 7-gauge stamped steel body (Most are 14-17 gauge or plastic!) 180 degree LED lighting with on/off switch. The presence lever recesses into a slot in the handle to reduce fatigue. A full 21 inch blade (Most 21 inch class mowers have 20-20.5 inch blades) It has a large battery charge indicator on the rear facing the operator for easy checks on remaining charge. 10 inch driven rear wheels, 8 inch front wheels all on bearings. (Most do not have bearings on the wheels but bushings) 1 to 4 MPH speed control roller knob and thumb/palm engagement lever (Engagement lever provides for a variable speed up to the max speed you set.) A rear side discharge shoot to keep the width the same whether mulching, bagging or discharging. The motor is set rear of center which offers easier lift and affords a bit more weight on the rear drive wheels. Single point raise and lower from 1 to 4 inches in seven steps. Of course it folds up for easy storage and transport and has a three position handle adjustment. A "high lift" mode increases motor RPM to 3300 RPM for max lift. The kit includes the mower, 2xM18 12ah batteries, a dual simultaneous rapid charger, discharge shoot, and bag. It's being marketed towards lawn care professionals with claims of 60 minutes runtimes able to cut 1/2 acre at an MSRP of $999.00 which for your average homeowner is quite steep. So for those of you who dont already know the Milwaukee tools that we buy in the USA are different then most of the rest of the world. When i say different i personally think ours are lacking in features. For example our fuel cases are red in the USA. Elsewhere they are black and much different. Our hand tools are red and theirs are red and black. This thread is about the Fuel circular saws. Below are pictures of our saws vs theirs, they have the ability to connect a hose and from the videos i have seen have almost zero dust (great for cutting indoors or just not having to clean up). There is Very Little info on any of this online, basically Zero info (this will be the first thread online with comparison pictures & info out there). I will be converting my new Milwaukee Fuel M18 circular saw (2730-20) into a CCS55 (this is what they call theirs). After a TON of searching, emails, phone calls, & becoming friends with a friends friend who lives in the UK who visits me each year... I have found a repair facility who will be sending me all the parts i need. I found out its more than just popping the other side on mine. It looks like it is going to cost be about $40 to do everything (not bad for the ability to use the saw normally or have the ability for dust collection). I know this is not for everyone, but for those of you interested, I hope this helps. This is New today... My drill no others do this. The 18v batters has a little play front to back, but what is bothering me is the play side to side I can move it side to side about 1/8".... Anyone else have this issue? Normal? Note: added short video in post below.

A trip through the archives of Tools in Action and ToolGuyd displays how far the cordless tool market has come in the past decade or so. Early articles on each site capture the look of the 2008-2011 tool market, and there are many gems that cover the tools available back then--established brands, new products, and optimistic predictions of what the future would look like. Well, it's the future, and I'd venture to say that few of us expected the cordless job site to look like it does now back in the dark days of 2009. The tools have gotten smaller, smarter and become brushless, and a number of brands have cut the cord on tools that necessitated a generator or other power source just a few years ago. Not everything has changed, though, as Ryobi One+ was already over a decade old and the M12 and M18 lines were getting off to a decent start. DeWalt, on the other hand wouldn't release 12v Max tools until 2010, with 20v Max coming about a year later. Anyway, the point of this thread is to examine exactly how the cordless tool market has changed since 2008. If you have the time, share a few articles from way back when along with anything you want to add.

Hello community members, I have a question about the tracking feature of the One key tools. I set the tool as 'stolen' from the app, but it won't lock itself down no matter whether I am connected to bluetooth or not, is that normal? If it isn't would the tool lock itself down if it set to 'missing' or 'stolen' without bluetooth or bluetooth is required? I don't plan to use it, but I just need to know whether I can count on it when/if I need it. Thank you for your help!

hello all, yes i resgistered here in search of chainsaw chat, especially for the Milwaukee new M18 im considering purchasing it but have a challenge in doing so as a tourist in NYC in August. 1. the shipped battery at 216 wH is too high energy to be taken back either as permissable cabin or luggage hold air transport - it has to be Dangerous goods certified shipping: a BIG cost+hassle 2. I cannot seem to purchase the saw in USA without the M18 battery - itself selling at 199USD as a standalone item 3. I cannot advertise to sell a brand new M18 battery here (as i am a newbie) 4. yes, the item is available in europe at a price differential of +250USD to USA price. 5. maybe i can find a USA tool retailer willing to sell me it without the battery or take it back? - any ideas in the NYC area? 6. maybe i should just forget it.... and get a Makita 18v chainsaw in Europe instead. have a splendid day.

While the jacket isn't technically a tool I'd appreciate any insight people might have. I bought the jacket and found the standard M12 lithium battery (model #48-11-2401) doesn't have enough power for an acceptable runtime even on the lowest setting. I found that the battery lasted only about 1.5 hrs on low. Since I don't want to load my pockets with extra batteries I tried my M18 standard size battery (model #48-11-1815). On high I get almost 3hrs but with more battery bulk. To me this is an acceptable runtime but if I could get even more time that would be better. So here's my question: would the M12 XC have more runtime than a standard M18? M12 XC = 3 amp hours - 32 watt M18 standard = 1.5 amp hours - 27 watt Not having an electrical engineering background does the M12 XC have more juice/runtime than the M18? I know there are factors like which heat setting (L, M or H). I typically wear it at medium. Does the 12v vs. 18v have any bearing? Thanks for taking the time to read and comment. Mike -

Hey guys not sure if this is a big deal or not but I've been noticing over the past few months that my fuel drill is starting to wobble almost like an impact driver does. it was perfect when I first got it but seems to be getting worse. It's not just with this longer extension it's with drill bits, my hole saws, even small or short bits too... I originally thought then a few things were bent but they are not. Everything on the drill seems tight, is this normal for an eight month old drill that's used around the house for DIY? So im from the USA but now live in New Zealand and we usually get tools and really everything at least 6 months after the rest of the world for some reason. I have been looking for a framing nailer, Love the Dewalt one but I would really like to see Milwaukee come up with something to rival Dewalts chordless framing nailgun. Does anyone know of they are going to be doing this in the near future? Or should I just go ahead and buy the Dewalt one. I use both platforms but lean more towards Milwaukee in most cases. Thoughts?

I was wondering if there is any way to see what "version" of a tool you have based on the serial #. I have a M18 fuel drill/driver combo kit (the 2897-22) and purchased it about 2 months ago now. I think this kit has been out for over a year now. I was reading on another forum they have made new versions/variations since my kit was first released. for example i was told the newer ones have all the electronics inside sealed in silicone. ...are the drill & driver exactly the same inside. if you were to get it today vs if you got it the day it was released? or are there dif versions/builds out there even thou the model # is the same.

Edit/Update: I seem to have fixed it! Replaced 1 of the 2 screws holding the base on, tightened them (nut first then torx screw w/ washers), & used loc tite on them + tightened all screws on the tool. I was just at HD and saw a display Milwaukee Jigsaw on the clearance rack. normally $129 for tool only. I got it for $60! My question/issue is that the base place seems to be quite loose/wobbly... and the arm that you open and close to adjust the angle on the bottom plate is also super loose. you can open it just by turning to tool to that side. Should I return it and forget it ...or does anyone know how to fix this?

I started a thread in regards to what tools will fit in the Fuel hard case. This is a Brand New Fuel hard case for a driver & drill combo. I modified it to fit the Brushed combo kit: 2656-20 impact driver & 2606-20 drill (the most common/popular kit). The fit is 100% PERFECT. I paid $35 for the case shipped plus about 4 hours or so of work. Please let me know if you need more pictures... I am looking for $40

I picked up a M18 fuel driver/drill combo and took off the belt clip and extra bit holder. These will fit all M18 drivers and drills. Brand New and never used. If you do not have a Fuel set, you drill did not come with the belt clip and neither your driver or drill came with the bit holder! -- Looking for $8 each. Belt Clip + Screw: Bit Holder:

Ok so after looking into this more i am super confused by the packages at Home Depot! I noticed that the price for the drill & driver combo kits changes almost daily! Last week alone the one i got went from $199 to $169 to $249....what. And i was just looking on the site and some other threads and started noticing a lot of dif things. This is the normal package - Model # 2691-22 - Home Depot link: https://tinyurl.com/j8ylb8y - This used to come with a free flashlight, but now its only when you buy online and not in store... Has anyone heard when the M12/M18 charger is coming out.... or has it already? I can't seem to find it yet! It seems kind of ridiculous that I want to buy it (when I own 4 M12 chargers) but I think it could make things easier and less cluttered when working. Any input would be great. Thanks, FB82
