Conductor562
1 hour ago, JMG said: @Conductor562 Could you not build a temporary plywood container to the size you need, line it with foil backed foam insulation sheet material, and heat it with a Milwaukee or other brand heat gun, using a double wall exhaust tube as an inlet? The set temperature for powder isn't that extreme and a food thermometer could be used to watch the temp while manually controlling the heat gun. You might have to experiment with an exhaust vent size to help control the heat, but I think for limited use, building something would work well enough for such a short term heat cycle. If there is a concern of ignition of any fumes, then just run a pipe around the interior and straight to an exhaust port without exposing the interior space directly to the heat being generated. I've seen some makeshift set ups like that on YouTube, though none heated with a heat gun. This is is the oven I like. It can be built for $1000 or less, but I'm not sure I have the sheet metal skill to make it look this nice. This same outfit sells these on eBay for like $2500, but I'd have to pick it up in Iowa. I've got enough skills, and know enough guys better than I, that I could get this made myself.
rrich1
Cleaned up the rest of the metal pieces. I think I am going to put a brushed finish on them and ear coat them. I initially was going to spray them but really like how these turned out so far. Sent from my Pixel XL using Tapatalk
rrich1
Finished up the grinder this past week. Really happy with how it turned out. I left the name plate how it was. Just cleaned it up a bit. Matches the drill press this way and shows a little age and character. Conductor562
I have to admit that I was a little skeptical of the brushed look at first, but I think it turned out great. Gives it a very battle ready sort of look.
