Vac recommendations

I need a vac to use with my dewalt track saw but can't afford a dust extractor, I would like one that has the handle and wheels. I thought I would do a cheaper vac with a dust deputy hooked up. I would also like to use it with my table saw. Any suggestion on a decent setup that won't break the bank? Thanks Michael

I just use a Ridgid shop vac through a Dust Right separator for my Table saw and Jointer. http://www.homedepot.com/p/RIDGID-16-Gal-6-5-Peak-HP-Wet-Dry-Vac-WD1851/100638360

and I have a Dust Right hose kit to hook my sanders up to the shop vac.

With routers and chop saws I just let the dust fly...

How is the dust right? I've often considered it at half the price of the dust deputy

Ive got the Festool MIDI and CT26 in my shop but I also have this wheeled, super compact AWESOME Ridgid vac in my shop for everything else and cleaning the cars. Absolutely love this little guy and it's super cheap..

Oh and one more thing, if your running a table saw, a shop vac ain't gonna do it. I ran my more powerful older Ridgid on my compact Dewalt DW745 and later my Sawstop. It was, on both machines, next to useless. It just does t have the volume capabilities of a standard dc unit.  A dust collector is going to do the job because of its power and the CFM they can move, and can be gotten pretty cheaply on Grizzly.com or Harbor Freight. And yes, the Harbor Freight dc unit though cheap isn't too bad.

Its ok, not great. It fills up pretty quick as the fill line is about 2/3rds of the way up. if it goes past that, the shop vac begins to fill up. I got it one sale, if I had to do it again I would just try and make one.

If I do the rigid, what about a smaller long hose to use with the saw.

They sell different sized hoses from Ridgid and aftermarket ones too. You need to know the port sizes for your vac and the tool. Check the links above too to search Rocklers stuff.

I do not recommend craftsman vacs. From experience using the craftsman vacs vs the shopvac brand and ridgid vacs I found all our craftsman have higher hp but the Ridgid and shopvac vacs all noticably more powerful than the craftsman. IN terms of on paper cfm I have found, shopvac makes the highest cfm shop vac I could find. If you go with a ridgid or a shopvac I suggest getting some kind of dust deputy or something with a similar purpose as to keep the filter cleaner. If you were to go with a self cleaning unit like a Bosch, Dewalt, Festool, or any other I havent mentioned, you may not feel the need to get a dust deputy.

I would say do not skimp on power. Spending a little extra money on a higher quality and more powerful unit can result in much better results and will prove to be worth the money.
