I can't stand driving nails all day with estwing hammers. They make a pinging noise every time you strike the nail. Like a tuneing fork. Lol

Some people do. I had a guy that worked with us one time. Another guy had one of the pinging hammers. And near the end of the day we was on the 3 floor of this house. He asked the guy with the hammer. Let me look at that hammer. He was a younger guy. So he gave it to him thinking he was going to admire his hammer. Handed it to him. And took one look at the hammer and threw it from the 3rd floor into a thicket in the woods.

out of all of my career in the shop I only had one problem with a guy, he was a new guy and a couple days after he started I couldn't find my square for the life of me.....it was black with gold numbers stood out like a sore thumb......as it was I noticed it on a bench of the new guy. I walked up to him and asked why you got my square? he say ^%&$ you that is my square get the %$^$$ out of here......I said let me look at for a sec, so he slide it towards me I looked at it and funny never seen to many of these and now mine is missing and you have one?....he says prove it..... I took the square and bend the short and long ends together threw it back on the bench towards him as said well your lucky I can't tell if it was mine or not so you can have it....and walked away.... as it turned out the next day he was caught stealing 4 large metal bessy clamps from the tool crib and got escorted out of the shop....gone!........one of the owner's came to me and said is that the dick that took your square ......ya that was him......he said go get another one and give the receipt......lol that was my first year in the shop and was only about 18.....so for the longest time the other guys had a running joke that if you screwed around with my tools you'd get fired ......

Not necessarily my favorite, but most used...

A guy I used to work with called my 3# version of this my Keebler (like the elf cookie bakers) hammer

http://www.estwing.com/s_drilling_hammer.php

30 oz. milled face... I drove about 10,000 60d nails one summer with one (staking curb, mostly, but some sewer and some water lines)

I have a Dewalt 20oz for demolition and a rare nail (hate nails, too old school for me), I love the grip out of 50 hammers I've held in my hand it feels best to me, and I like the angle of the claw. Also have a Husky deadblow for universal whatnot, love the lack of rebound.

Needles to say...I'm a cheap date.

Yeah my estwing 4lb engineers hammer comes into play the most. I bought all the deadblows so I could beat on stuff just as much and cause slightly less damage than that estwing.

I totally agree! I thought it was cool at first, as if I'm laying down railroad spikes, but after a while it gets annoying.
