I use my jigsaw nearly every day so hopefully it doesn't damage the locking mechanism. The company I work for always supplies Bosch blades so I wont be buying Ryobi blades any time soon. I,m sure you could get them on line though.

Any one know how good the 18v Ryobi laminate trimmer is? Think its going to be my next purchase

My Jigsaw does the same but I have noticed that when you use Bosch blades it does turn and lock enough for the blade to work fine. Iv had no problems in the blade coming lose or falling out.
