  1. I bought it to use for when we do insulated siding and hardy and such. It is great for those things as its small and has belt hook. However it is not balanced very well and takes getting used to to use it one handed. It does cut well but I think it could have been thought out better.
  2. if it's the one that uses 30 degree nails they are junk. I haven't tried the newer one that shoots 21 degree yet though. we have tried 3 of the 30 degree framing nailers and everyone one sucks. They will never sink nails properly and they will jam constanly. I hate that I always have to go back to my trusty paslode but it actually works everytime. We still have 2 of the dewalt framing nailers and everytime I get it out I get frustrated.
  3. I have the 60v chainsaw and have used it quite a bit. Its another great tool and havent had an issue but it does use a lot of bar and chain oil.
  4. Dropped my framing nailer off at service center for repair under warranty a few days ago. The thing has been the biggest piece of junk and only gotten worse so hopefully they can get it fixed properly.
  5. I have tried just about all nails, 2 3/8 to 3 1/4, ring shank and non. tried hitachi, grip rite, paslode and some others. Shooting into everything. went back to my paslode for now.
  6. This nailer is absolutely garbage. I had one and returned it due to jamming. Now i bought a new one last fall and it is a piece of junk. Have tried every brand of nails and it does nothing but jam or fail to set nails. It now will not shoot a 16 without jamming and you have to yank the gun off the nailing surface and loosen the 2 allen head screws every time to get the mangled nail out of it. Really annoying that my 10 year old paslode still shoots perfect but yet dewalt cant make a cordless framing nailer.
  7. Our experience with the dewalt nailer was not good. With the depth gauge to max depth it would not fully sink 8s or 16s, its not very useful as a nailer if you have to pound every nail in with a hammer. It also jammed quite frequently and required being taken apart with allen key. The paslode works much better just slower and have to buy gas.
  8. Also one other complaint, only nails that lowes sells that fit are hitachi 33 degree nails. Not sure if its the case with other brands but you cannot fit two strips of nails, the feed mechanism will not engage so you are stuck with a worthless gun that weighs a ton and holds one strip of nails.
  9. New member here. Wanted to post as well about this nail gun. Have tons of dewalt tools and wanted to try this gun out. We do mostly roofing and siding and had a roof that need resheeted. We normally use air nailers when doing this but wanted to try one of these mainly for setting boards and see if it actually works well. Well it is getting returned. Probably the worst dewalt tool i have ever used. It is slow, it jams very frequently, like every few nails, the depth setting is horrible. Even with the depth set as deep as the gun goes it leaves the nails sticking up a 1/4" when installing 7/16 osb on 2x4 framing. I cant even imagine trying to do real framing with it. Guess we will stick with pneumatic and paslode. Was really hoping this tool would work out.
