I might be wrong but I think mft tables use a different size dog hole, 5/8" maybe, most are 3/4" dog holes. So keep that in mind if you make the dog holes in your bench. Sent from my Pixel XL using Tapatalk

First coat of General Finishes Enduro var is on. I used my Fuji semi pro 2 to spray it. I have never used this finish before and this is my second project using the sprayer so I actually went over everything with a foam brush. I left the parts that wouldn't be seen with a spray finish only. I'll compare and see if the brush is needed. so far so good. Here is a pic of the headboard. Drawers are done with sanding. I planed the face frame to the pillars of the head and foot boards. Up next is to sand the everything. I also made some much needed f style clamp racks. The larger ones were in my parallel clamp rack and it wasn't designed for them. I am getting more clamps thanks to William Patrick customs via Instagram I won some jet parallel clamps. Drawers are all fit and and am currently sanding them. I did a partial sand after doing the rough plane so this won't take too long. I will need to plane the face frame to the posts and sand them as well. My plan is to put a coat of finish on Monday night. Currently I am fitting the drawers to the frame. I made runners and slides on the table saw. I had to build up pieces in the frame to accept the runners. To flush up the box joints I used my hand planes to plane the fronts and sides. They are currently "rough" planed. That is they are all smooth but not flush to the frame. I will go over them again once all of the runners are in and glued and plane the faces flush to the frame and plane the sides, top, and bottoms to give an even reveal. With the frame parts essentially done it was time for the drawers. I got the continuous grain pattern I wanted and mapped out the box joints I wanted. I cut the box joints on the band saw. Somehow I messed up on the second set and cut on the wrong side of the line....for all of the drawers. Luckily when I trimmed the drawers to fit I had slivers of the walnut. I sanded them down on the drum sander and cut small pieces for patches. This turned out pretty well. Not perfect but these will be at shin level and no one will know. After getting the drawer glued together #clampchamp I made a jig to router out a handle Instead of using a metal handle. I figured a handle that stuck out would hit a shin or get damages when used as a step. The routed out handle matches the handle I made for the hamper I made so it ties all of the pieces together. For those that don't follow me on Instagram...why not? My name is @r2_woodworking. I have been building a storage bed to match the modern chest of drawers and night stand that I built for my oldest son. This build has taken longer than I wanted due to holidays, weather, new shop upgrades, and broken garage heater. I am finally on the home stretch. Here is what has happened do far. I wasn't able to find plans online for what I wanted so I got dimensions from an Ana white plan and heavily modified them to fit my needs. The frame is cherry with the panels being air dried walnut. These panels are not resawn and are different boards but almost have a resawn look to them. The head and foot boards were put together with Domino's. Grooves we're cut with a router table for the panels. Next was to make the boxes for the bed to sit on to and the drawers to go in. Plywood and pocket holes fit this need perfectly. The drawers will be flush with the frame so I had to make a face frame. The top of the face frame will hold the bed in. Pocket holes were used again to make the frame and attach it to the boxes. The boxes are essentially the frame and need to sit on something to distribute the weight of the bed. I made the kick out of cherry to keep it all matching. Pocket holes again hid all of the attachment points. The head and foot boards will hide the butt joints. Sent from my Pixel XL using Tapatalk

Picked up the Bosch 6" ROS65VC. HD had it as a deal of the day for $159 regularly $229. Amazon had it the same price plus the $20 off over $100 purchase. I've been wanting this sander for a long time. Tried it out today and holy crap is it powerful. Such a difference over my 5" festool and Bosch. The larger disc is nice but the power alone will make Sanding jobs go faster. Now I just need pads. It only came with one 120 grit. Sent from my Pixel XL using Tapatalk

Some people want to buy their forever tool sooner rather than later. A table saw will last you for decades. A more consumable tool like a sander, router, or jig saw get many upgrades throughout the years or just don't last as long. Some tools are worth buying a better tool for. Table saws is one of them. For example unisaws or powermatic table saws from the 50s are still in use or like my drill press and jointer from the 40s and 50s. Cheaper tools or hand power tools aren't in use. Very lightly used 1.75hp pcs. I got the industrial base and switched out the pcs base that came with it. The previous owner made an outfeed table that comes off and folds up. Plans are an easy sell. They are a do once and can continue to profit. As far as pricing that is up to what you want. Do you want to sell 10 plans at $20 or 20 plans at $10? I am more apt to place a cheap plan in my cart or multiple as opposed to buying a high prices plan. If you look around at a lot of YouTube maker plans they range from free to $20. The more popular plans like Jay Bates workbench and miter station are $20 but diy Tyler's miter station is $5 or $10. I can't remember but I had bought it. Sent from my Pixel XL using Tapatalk

What's awesome in this whole thing is that I took a random week of vacation this year in July when we did our shift sign up last month. I found out on Christmas Eve that they were selling me the truck. I looked earlier this month and the truck show that we always took it to is the same week as my vacation. Too much of a coincidence! Purchased this yesterday. It was my grandfather's who sold in back in '11 before Alzheimer's set in. 1931 Ford Model AA. Inline 4. Whopping 40hp and pretty much top speed of 40 mph. And I will love all 40 of it. It's currently a few hours north of me right now. I went to Chicago for a Lie Nielsen hand tool event and drove 40 min to see it. I paid the man and got the title in hand. He will trailer it down to me when it's nicer weather. The lettering on the side is from when my grandpa had it. It's dark green with black fender and radiator. He purchased it around 1980. Due to his Alzheimer's I can't ask him for sure. It hasn't been ran in over a year so I will need to do maintenance on it.
