  1. This may be of interest to UK readers. Toolstation have started stocking the new Stanley Fatmax Pro-stack range. I picked up a few items and can confirm the Stanley items are straight Dewalt rebrands with a slight re-colour. The SKU codes are identical. Most of the Stanley units are around £5 cheaper than the equivalent Dewalt item but two deals stood out for me: 1) Toolstation are stocking the shallow ‘water seal’ organiser for £30. The Dewalt version is virtually impossible to source in UK and I’ve not seen it for less than £45. https://www.toolstation.com/stanley-fatmax-pro-stack-high-capacity-organiser/p80453 2) Toolstation have a deal where you buy the open tote tool bag for £50 (bit pricey, Dewalt’s version is £40) and get the regular handle deep box for free. https://www.toolstation.com/stanley-fatmax-pro-stack-tote-bag/p54574 Doesn’t look like B&Q or Screwfix are stocking Pro-stack at present.
  2. What? I want a cordless Dewalt belt sander as much as the next guy, but your necro-thread revival is pointless
  3. Correct. Almost all my 18/20V and 54/60V Dewalt tools were purchased online and then brought back to UK during my frequent (pre-COVID) business trips to Florida. The only thing you need to factor in is warranty. Dewalt UK won’t touch anything stamped 20/60V! If you’re not concerned by that, fill yer boots!
  4. Interesting, partly because my key is yellow! Did you routinely plug/unplug the key prior to this, meaning wear could be an issue? I’ve left mine plugged in since Day 1.
  5. Oh, this is interesting! However, not convinced by the weird styling. This is the sort of tool that you want to be as compact and stowable as possible, not strangely ‘blobby’ and curved.
  6. Sounds like you’ve got a sawdust blockage within the tool. Try blowing/sucking it through. I have two of these and use both with the bags which I constantly have to empty!!
  7. This. Talk of utilising cheap step-down/step-up transformers is just a bit scary. Bite the bullet and invest in charger in your native voltage. Job done. Stay safe.
  8. These. I initially chuckled at the pencil sharpener suggestion.......but then thought how many times I hack at pencils with a Stanley knife. Oh, and I do not want to be standing under a Flexvolt drone (specifically the battery) when it falls out of the sky!

    Mr

I have a mix and match setup of UK and US sourced Dewalt 18/20 and 54/60 volt tools. I mostly now buy bare tools on my regular trips to the US, most recently the new 60V in-line blower, not yet available in UK. As Jronman says, you’re all good to go, bar the warranty, so if you’re not particularly hard on your tools, you should have no major issues.
  10. Well, after a two week road test in late-October 90+ South Florida sunshine, I’m happy to report that the cooler is a keeper! We had some great days out, including beaches, parks and water parks, and the cooler rocked! This was without any TSTAK accessories (bag, open tote etc) that I’ve now picked up on UK deals. Hands up, my wife always goes OTT with cooler blocks so our food/drinks were NEVER going to heat up, but I’d estimate the 3day ice claims are realistic based on our experience. If I had one gripe, it’s that a fold down or remove-able handle would make storage easier as the cooler would then be shelvable rather than taking up floor space. Anyone without a truck, minivan or SUV may also struggle to fit this in their trunk/boot. Sadly, we maxed out our baggage allowance for our return flight so I had to box the cooler back up for when I come back to Miami (solo!) next month. However, this is going to get a LOT of use with the family back in the UK next summer
  11. Finally over in Miami to collect new cooler from my office. First impressions are excellent. This thing is solid. Family will be road-testing this over next 10 days to get some real world experience.
  12. Preordered with Labor Day 12% discount code! 😀 Acme
  13. Hmm, any idea on US release date for this? I’ve got three days in Walt Disney World, FL, with the family coming up in October. Wondering if I can swing by a Home Depot and grab one of these as a mobile picnic box. Can then load up with peanut butter M&Ms (not available in UK), tape the lid/handle down and check it in on way home....... Stoopid or inspired? EDIT: Specs above state volume of 30 quarts. Tough system cooler volume is 27 quarts. Huh?

  15. Actually, the Dewalt/Stanley flip-bin case is incompatible with both systems standard. ($24 is a great price btw)
  16. Pfft, I got a week in Miami coming up in early June and one of these bad boys will be coming home to the UK with me (sans charger!) Any online retailers got stock or is this HD only at moment?
  17. Certainly compact compared to the Flexvolt 6Ah/9Ah models.
  18. Plenty of YT videos of these Chinese bikes hooked up to cordless drills, but if Dewalt made one with a built in built-in motor + 20V battery mount and pushed ‘em out as a $200 promo, who wouldn’t buy one? Or two? Probably too many regs for it to happen though.

    Real or fake

Old tool = Possibly fine, possibly not. Knock-off battery = Junk
  20. Sander that takes standard ‘pointed’ hook-loop pads. Essentially, a one-handed, more refined, less tiring option than using the current multi tool triangle adapter. Ryobi’s version looks like this:
  21. I’ll bite! My wish list would be: - 18V T50 Stapler (based on form factor to new cable-stapler) - 18V Hot Glue Gun - 54V Belt Sander - 18V (54V?) Heat Gun - 54V Capsule Coffee Machine (Why not?) - 54V (Tstak) Active Drinks Cooler - 54V Oscillating Fan (bigger form factor than current 18V fans - which I love) - 18V detail sander - 54V ‘Brompton style’ folding bike.
  22. Bin the UK charger. Buy a US charger of whatever flavour you desire. Job done. US 20V Max = UK 18V XR. Enjoy!
