  1. I've had exactly the same experience in Australia. I couldn't sell a few batteries until I dropped the price to a point where it was too good to ignore. It took me 6 weeks to sell a Metabo battery that had only done 5 charge cycles and had one minor scratch on the bottom, and I had to sell it for 1/3 of the price of a new one (shipping included!). I'd say Milwaukee and Dewalt would sell much easier than Metabo. I'm actually surprised how well Ebay works for tools in Australia, we only have a population of 24 million.
  2. +1 for Ebay. I've sold a heap on there. It's a great fund raiser for new tools.
  3. They'll be heavy tools with all that extra thick wiring.
  4. I wonder if they did something like Metabo with their LiHD internals. Metabo's approach: - Enlarged power rails and contacts capable of handling high currents - 3x better conductivity with cell connectors made of a specialized copper alloy Quoted from here: https://www.metabo.com/au/en/info/competence/battery-pack-technology/lihd-battery-pack-technology/
  5. I haven't found any info or photos yet other than seeing it in the manual for the new impact driver. See my other post for the Metabo link and find the pdf manual.

  7. ...and it's finally up on the Metabo website. https://www.metabo.com/uk/en/tools/cordless-tools/cordless-impact-wrench/ssd-18-ltx-200-bl-602396650-cordless-impact-wrench.html
  8. I've been scouring the internet for months looking for an image or some info. I've finally found something! http://www.rsis.co.uk/power-tools-c149/impact-drivers-and-wrenches-c1221/impact-drivers-c1227/metabo-impact-driver-ssd-18-ltx-200-bl-body-only-in-metaloc-p19785

Is it the same as the 20V string trimmer handle? It's made of similar stuff to those stress balls. I'm just waiting for mine to fall apart. It should have been hard rubber.
  10. @dwain would it be worthwhile to throw in a corded grinder as well? To reduce the amount of work you have to do it could be a single performance comparison test between the best performing cordless and a corded. In advance i'll say thanks for the video, they must be a ton of work to make.
  11. I ended up choosing a Vim Tools HBR5 ratchet: https://www.amazon.com/Vim-Products-HBR5-ToolsHBR5-Ratchet/dp/B003TSMQWU
  12. Get the weights without batteries. Also, a shot above them side-by-side so we can compare size. Looking forward to this one. You wouldn't happen to have the brushed Metabo as well (which in one review beat some newer brushless models)?
  13. There's more: https://www.google.com.au/amp/s/www.popularmechanics.com/home/tools/reviews/gmp1328/5-reciprocating-saw-accessories-you-should-own-16074749/
  14. Recip saws are my favourite cordless tools after compact drills. I've seen attachments online such as files and wire brushes but I've never actually used any. They're hard to find and somewhat expensive. Add these to the cutting abilities and they certainly are versatile.
  15. I'm in Australia so our marketing uses 18V. I have an 18V charger and both 18V Aus and 20V Max US batteries. Exactly the same, so no difference in charging, all works fine.
  16. I used to always buy cheap hand tools and never gave much thought to using them. I've never owned cordless tools before. Since about 2015, somehow, I've gotten the tool bug. My first cordless was a Bosch PS31 12V brushed drill and impact driver combo. Next it was a few 18V Metabo tools. The OMT got me into Dewalt 20V, and the TD170 impact driver got me into Makita 18V. I mostly have Dewalt 20V now. Makita and Dewalt are great tools! I recently won an ebay auction for a used Bosch 18V charger, so soon I'll probably end up with a few of their tools too (the DDS183 drill in particular). I'm also a big fan of high quality hand tools. I have some Stahlwille, NWS, Knipex, Grip-on, and Facom. Tools and DIY are probably the only hobby I have now. I'm always looking for jobs to do with them.
  17. I have a knockoff 2ah Dewalt. It works great for my drill, die grinder, OMT, and string trimmer, but not the jobsite blower. When I fully pull the trigger it will work for half a second then cut out. Other than that it's quite a good battery. It also lasts longer than the genuine 2ah batteries I have. I wouldn't buy one again though.
  18. I read a recent review of the Makita x2 36V string trimmer and the reviewer stated it was a better performer than the Ego. This was surprising as well. I'll stick with my 20V Dewalt for now, but at some point I'll be considering Ego, Flexvolt or Makita 36V.

  20. How would they handle a cordless angle grinder? Could they keep up with the power draw? That would be a great tool to have one for. Is the weight comparable to a battery?
  21. Thanks. That looks good. I haven't come across any flexible ones yet.
  22. I'm looking for a good quality ratchet for 1/4 hex bits. I've seen one from Felo but it's too expensive. I'm setting up a tool box for the house and plan to use 1 inch (25mm) hex driver bits for everything, instead of hex keys and screwdrivers. I have a very good magnetic Wiha bit holding handle for screwdriving but nothing to take over for the hex key role. There's quite a few on Ebay but I'm reluctant to get one that might end up having a really poor ratcheting mechanism. They might actually be great, it's just largely unknown.
  23. These are very high quality. I will be buying more.
  24. Thanks for that info. Strange that they could have different depth chucks. It seems hard to believe they wouldn't notice something like that during manufacturing or from years of customer feedback. Unless they are meant to be this way for the Korean market. Mine is actually a GSR-10,8 V-EC HX, I just say ps22 because it's easier. What year was your ps22 and ps42 manufactured? Mine says "Made in Malaysia 2017". The chuck is exactly 25mm (1 inch deep) and the ball bearing thing that clamps down on the bits is 5mm from the front of the chuck.
  25. Thanks @Blendz that's a good idea. That's exactly all it needs, I think I'll give that a go! The stopping issue has really slowed down for me lately. It hasn't happened for 2 weeks now which is great.
