Thanks for that info, Glad its worked ok for you, and you have found the saw to be good, and only have an issue with availability of blades I was looking at the cordless, BUT as a diyer, I don't think i need this advantage nor the cost of flexvolt batteries, i only have 18V batteries, The saw I think is the same 240V v 54V apart from Motor Yes i noticed the smaller 210mm blade are not available everywhere, not sure what country you are in but in UK i find Saxton blades to be good and affordable. However the riving tool on the dewalt DWE7845 is 1.6mm thick and my understanding is that the riving tool needs to be smaller then kerf but larger than body of blade. I only see the Dewalt Extreme blades to be this thin and expensive 1.3mm blade 1.8mm Kerf on the 24T supplied with the machine. Saxton do a professional range 210mm 30mm 1.5mm blade 2.3mm Kerf 40T & 80T on my mitre saw using a 250mm blade, i saw a big difference between the dewalt OEM 40T blade and the Freud 60T & 80T blades Also I have Saxton blades for the dewalt cordless Circular saw , Saxton Specialist Blade 48T 1.5mm Kerf 165mm is very very good. I also have the Freud blade less teeth needed as diameter is smaller, 165mm 40T is about the same as a 250mm 60T 13mm/T

I purchased the DeWalt DCG405FN 18V XR Brushless 125mm Flathead Angle Grinder in the end in Dec 2019 used a lot over the last year, BUT the 5A battery does not last long. otherwise pleased with the unit Now a little bit dewalt biased, as i have so much kit

really sorry for delay, didnt get the notification £399 from FFX 4th June 2019 Brilliant tool , especially with the Freud blades Used a lot in the last year, used on a laminate floor to redo a ground floor in daughters house. various other jobs , just a brilliant tool I'm finding the saxton blades are good on other tools, like circular saw so may get some of those, although i found a sharpening service which i may use. I'm thinking of getting the DWE7845 240V in November, when back in stock , seems some new regulation (UL (safety standards org)) from 2019 ratio of blade v table means that more 210mm models will appear and less 10" 250mm , most of the cheaper dewalt 10" models seem to have been discontinued, as a DIYer the DWE7491/2 are just out of my budget at almost twice the price of the DWE7485 model , even though a 250mm blade would be useful as i have that on my Mitre saw and various Freud blades. I wondered how people are getting on with the machine, a lot of reviews / youtube, look good. I wondered about the riving knife which is 1.6mm Thickness and how people worked with other makes of blade like saxton or freud/diablo

Thanks - I'm trying to see if i can get a deall on the DWS778 with a Dewalt DeWalt DE7033 and some Freud Blades Just seeing if i can get a good deal tomorrow i looked at some in B&Q & Wickes etc today, but nothing seemed of very high quality - JCB, Evolution etc I researched some of the Bosch's are seem very expensive Also the Makita's i saw in B&Q they only had the Chop saw so difficult to go look in the shops and just really in youtube videos I hope the Freud blades are as good as some of the reviews suggest

Hi All, This would be for general home DIY use I have quite a few dewalt cordless tools (circular saw, jigsaw, planer and drills etc), and the 625 router , i purchased the 625 as it seemed it would cover everything i may need to do , with a 35 piece 1/2" bit set.I'm thinking now of adding a Sliding Mitre Saw to my tool collectionI have seen a DWS774 £200 in wickes and quite liked it, seemed very portsble small footprint and solid with positive movements and locking but they are out of stock Screwfix has a DWS773 £199 - but that does not have the XPS shadow lineHowever, a friend mentioned an evolution , its a bit big, and did not appear as solid build and positive on the movements , also the rails come out the back a long way. I do like the multipurpose blade and the cutting sizes.Problem is you cant go to a shop and see these side by side anymore , best i have seen is Machinemart, NO Dewalt or B&Q again no dewalt or Wickes only had a dewalt and a wickes brand.So that got me looking at other models and the DWS778 £399- which seems like a really good saw, has a good range of cutting depths 300mm x 80mm , looks reasonably portable. I guess if i could find a deal for maybe this & spare blade and Stand , I would probably go for it.I was thinking about the 18V cordless, but I'm not trade and will be near power , also it seems bigger as the rails come out the back, although some reports say double bevel.The 778 with a portable dewalt mitre stand comes out quite expensive £399 + £135 from FFX They are advertising 7 days of deals, next week 3rd June 2019, so hoping they have some deals on Monday - Dewalt day.I would be interested in peoples views who have some of these tools and what they think.As i say its just for general DIY use around the home.look forward to users/members views

Thanks for the reply, the router is corded DW625 so as you mentions the saws and planner may benefit i have been looking at the flexivolt 6AH , but none of my tools need s flexivolt and now sure if the investment would see a return .

Hi, I'm thinking of getting a Dewalt Angle Grinder in the next few months Its just for DIY use , sharpening garden tools , 21" lawnmower blade etc cutting bricks / paving slabes etc I have a couple of 3Ah batteries and may have to buy a bigger battery to run the grinder i have been looking at DEWALT DCG414B and Dewalt DCG405FN, as it has a better angle range not a priority for me right now - but on my list any other suggestions - I am invested in the dewalt cordless system - as i have 6 other cordless 18v tools planer, jig saw, circular saw, mutli-tool, combi drill, impact driver, I have the corded DW625 router , so thats not on a future list I also have STIHL tools for garden, so no intention of buying into dewalt chainsaw, strimmer , hedge trimmer etc thanks in advance for any suggestions

I was looking at a deal in screwfix - UK on a dewalt power drill cordless and it seemed really good, my son in law has used dewalt for a while , so I have now bought into the system and over the last 6 months made significant investment in the brand my Kit so far Dewalt Drill brushless cordless - special price at screwfix with 2 x 3ah batts - but since found out is very low in the range and would have preferred the 9 series version Impact driver brushless cordless - which is really great - 3 speeds and 205nm, out a fence up recently against a small wall and this driver was invaluable Multitool brushless - came with 2 x 2ah batts Jigsaw cordless Circular saw brushless cordless Planer brushless cordless Router DW625 - cabled - trend 35 bit set Various Dewalt drill bit sets , Dewalt driver sets , adapters. I'm thinking of getting a 5AH battery - and asked a question for my son-in-law The angle grinder - with the small head to get at wider angles perhaps the small cordless router when released going to go along to the FFX tool show in March hopefully there will be a few deals at the show
