  1. I am having the same problem with my DW744 Type 1. I’ve loosened the two 10mm bolts as instructed in manual but the carriage didn’t seem to move very freely. I move the carriage a little, tightened the bolts and recheck it only to find it’s too much the other way. Should I also loosen the bolts holding the carriage in the front too? Or, is there a trick to doing it? I don’t have a dial gauge so I’m using a digital caliper.
