  1. Hi Alex, thanks for the info. I cant believe i missed that in the manual😳 and that confirms for me the unit is spinning at 600 at start up as i cycle the rpm through and works at 150 and 300 only and fails to detect at 600 and 1200. So from this i also believe it should be detecting at all speeds, but that is not mentioned. In the manual it does state "The detector does not respond to a stationary laser beam. The DeWALT Digital Laser Detector has been designed to work only with rotary lasers". and when the laser is spinning at 600+ the green beam does look like a solid line with no pulse simulating a stationary beam. Further testing today i found it not auto-leveling with ease as it should, tested on a flat surface ( kitchen table and or floor) numerous times. I did call Dewalt and have arranged its return under warranty. Cheers
  2. Hi all, just reaching out to see if anyone has had the same experience. As titled I have a DeWalt green rotary laser. Purchased new 12months ago and is well looked after during use and stored safe. Model DCE079G I have only recently had issues where after it’s setup on tripod my detector/receiver seems to only respond when the rpm of the laser is low. The det/Rec will not pick up the beam when it’s at high rpm. So I have a couple questions, when the laser is taken out for use and turned on what is the default rotary speed ? It’s never done this since I got it, I would take it out set it up and away I go, never really took noticed of the “default”speed settings of the rotary every time I use it. I was thinking mine may have set it self to high for some reason? as soon as I lower the rpm it picks it up. I’ve power cycled both units and removed batteries to reset it etc but no go. After researching and calling DeWalt they couldn’t tell me or confirm if this was by design that the det/rec doesn’t pick up high rpm signal? So if anyone has one they could try for me and let me know ? I suspect it’s the det/rec but also would like to confirm the default rotary speed of the laser itself out of box if possible ? thanks all
