Planing on buying drill, impact set

Recommended Posts

I'm planing on buying a drill, impact driver set, not sure what to get.also not sure if i want a full sized set or a compact set. The main thing is the price...I would like it to be under $150(or cheaper). For $100 on amazon there is the hitachi compact 12v set, and at menards the bosch 18v set is on sale for $140. Any suggestions?

Not to familiar with hitachi and Bisch does make some really nice tools but if your considering a 12v line I would look into milwaukee m12 line they have almost everything to cover all your necessities

I only know one person with Hitachi tools, but he has their 18v. He seems to really like it and hasn't really had much issue with it. I personally am a fan of Bosch and don't think you would go wrong with anything they make. I'm not sure of the price but if you want compact and 12v you go with the Bosch. Have fun and good luck. It's a lot of fun when you are in the market for new tools and not tied to any brands.

Here you go, don't waste your time on that old red stuff!71b062e2f6c4392493f165280c22068c.jpg

Just kidding about the Milwaukee though, they make good tools as well. We actually use quite a bit of the red stuff out at our farm.

get the compact brushed 18V set from Milwaukee or Bosch. Or the Brushless compact set from Milwaukee, Dewalt or Bosch.

looks like none of those ^ are available for under $150 on amazon. BUT if you spend $169, you can get the brand new metal-chuck bosch drill, and be the envy of all your friends - http://www.amazon.com/Bosch-CLPK232A-181-Lithium-Ion-Cordless-Combo/dp/B01CQP9QC4/ref=sr_1_201?s=power-hand-tools&ie=UTF8&qid=1463971555&sr=1-201&keywords=drill+and+impact+driver

It is a beautiful set, but unfortunately the price is a bit high for me

if you can't get a decent set within your price range, i reckon just buy a decent drill and worry about the driver later. quality over quantity is what I'm saying...

Both of these kits are $169, the one you get a free battery but I like the other drill better.  For $19 more than your budget you can have a great 12v combo set.

$29 more than your budget this is an awesome 18v set.

I get that all of these sets are slightly over your budget, but you will be buying a top notch tool with a 5 yr warranty and over the life of the tool that $19 or $29 is well worth it. Buying quality for a few extra bucks now is better than saving $20 and having a lesser tool. Bosch is a great brand, don't get me wrong, I am just a Milwaukee guy.

I have Bosch and makita. I have the impactor in that Bosch set. The drill I have is different though. They both have been great for me and I use my Bosch drill over my big makita hammer drill all the time. You will be happy with that set. I would steer clear of the Hitachi for now. I believe they are going to be releasing newer stuff in the future but their current stuff doesn't stack up to the other brands.

If you're looking at 12V, this Bosch kit just went on sale at Home Depot for $130.
