cpope09
Having trouble on what version of multi tool to buy does any one own both and would one would you recommend?
jeffmcmillan
The M12 requires an allen key for the blade change and runtime isn't the greatest with 10.8V. Unless you only have M12 tools and batteries you'll be happier with the M18 version.
comp56
I agree, had the M12 and upgraded to the M18 not saying the M12 version was a total waste but I find the battery life is better with the M18 along with somewhat tool-less M18 is a little bigger and can obviously weigh more with a 4.0ah or 5.0ah connected.... Daniel Julian
I've never had/used the M12, but I do own the M18 and can vouch that the M18 is great. Compared to others, I wish the blade change was easier on the M18, but it is tool free.
KnarlyCarl
I use the m12 for cutting out squares of drywall to get to plumbing behind walls, makes very nice cuts easy, controlled, and I don't have to worry about hitting things behind the drywall like a recip saw would. I wish I had the m18 version tho, for when I need to notch out wood material. .. ..
Bremon
From reviews I've seen the M18 seems the to be the way to go. I bought my parents because they have around 10 M12 batteries and 0 M18. From what I've seen and read the M12 chews through batteries like a beast. DR99
I ordered a few different ones off amazon they seemed to be decent on the light wood and drywall i was cutting. Can't remember the names though

The price seemed decent as well. The variety of blades isn't as much as some other brands but they got the essentials. I was interested in their bigger set. I think it was a 100 something piece set. MikeyB
Thanks Hugh Jass. I have the Makita 18V OMT cordless and love it. Like everyone says you don't think you need a tool like this but when you use it, it's the shit! I have to tAke a look the Integra brand, thanks guys

All of their sets are set at different values, when I purchased I got the 26 blade set and they were cheap as dirt. I paid for my entire OMT KIT by not buying OEM blades. ~Hugh Jass. kmarnes
Hi, I just picked up an M18 bare tool. Looks like Bosch makes perfect fit blades. I don't really have anything specific planned for this at the moment, but is there a suitable blade attachment that can be used for cleaning out crap between my sundeck boards, without destroying the wood? Thanks!

kmarnes
Thanks! I'll check that out. I found something like this -- on a pole, could be a lot easier on the back. http://www.sportys.com/toolshop/crevice-cleaning-tool.html But found this on Amazon. https://www.amazon.com/Products-900404-Spyder-Remodeling-Reciprocating/dp/B00BHZKAO8/ref=sr_1_fkmr2_3?s=hi&ie=UTF8&qid=1529702542&sr=1-3-fkmr2&keywords=spider+brush+reciprocating+blade

JeremyJ
I bought into the M12 line first and used mine quite a bit, loud but works. I was using mine to clean out some caulk/make room for metal around a window and one of the male prongs broke and stuck into the battery. First I noticed the battery came loose and I popped it back in. Went back to work for a minute, battery fell out. Then noticed the prong sticking out. I still need to send it back to Milwaukee, also a flashlight that doesn't work either. Went and bought a M18 the next day. Love it and it cranks. Oscillating Mult-tools needs a big battery, they seem to use a lot of juice.
