rrmccabe
I only have a guess from being and Admin on several Vbulletin forums. In the control panel you can associate things like ";)" with . I am guessing that during the transition to the new forum setup they just have not associated all the key stroke combinations with the actual emoticon. My guess is either that or the migration just brought the original characters over and did not turn them into a emoticon. I have not looked. Is it possible older post not showing or is it something current? I really doubt its a windows/mac/phone thing as the forum software just associates characters and inserts the proper smiley. EDIT: I just looked. Its not related to time as I see many old posts with smileys. Seems to be working fine for me.
