I'd be thoroughly impressed if anyone got it without cheating...I cheated earlier because I was curious about the history.

In truth, I knew who invented it, but I had to look up the year. 

 

It is a toughy, so here's a hint. This company was later bought by a much more famous company that everyone here is super familiar with.

Who was the first main people to come up with cordless tool and when? A well known company was involved but who brought the design to the table?

I'm guessing Milwaukee came out with the first cordless tool with that huge battery box which is connected to the tool with a cord. not sure who brought the idea to the table.

Well if it was black and decker it probably was nasa but I thought the milwaukee tools with that giant box deal connected to them came earlier.

I'm with Jronman. Pretty certain B&D developed the cordless drill for the space program in the Apollo era

What does Festool call the function on their DWC drywall screw gun which allows you to "manually" drive a screw in?

Manual? Lol knowing festool they make it sound too cool for school so maybe torque overide?
