Makwalt
I've had the above jigsaw for a few years. Most my work with it is free-hand but on the odd occasion that I do want a perfectly straight cut it is unable to do it, with or without a guide for the sole plate. Looking at the underside it is clear that the blade is held at a slight angle, approx 5 degrees off. The clamp fully engages and there is no muck getting in the way. I recently downloaded a service manual for it , FREE HERE , to open up and have a look see. I was hoping that the mech. had been put together wrong or maybe a component had become distorted to explain the offset. However nothing seems amiss and there seems little scope for anything to be wrong in the sliding mech. I am, therefore, left with the assumption that the actual rod is badly made, the blade holder sets to straight when closed but the blade-receiving slot in the rod is not. Is this likely or should I be looking at something else? Edited October 16, 2017 by Makwalt Add pics
