kat
Makita has an interesting battery adapter with a DC plug output. Model number is PE00000028 and it appears to be used by the Makita heated jacket. I was thinking I could use it to power some small electronics, like a soldering iron that accepts a 5.5 mm DC plug and up to 24V. But I can't find anywhere the specs for it. Like what's the output voltage through that plug, and max amp draw, and maybe the type of plug. Does anyone here have the heated jacket with this adapter? Maybe they are printed on it on the other side? Another idea I had is to get this cheap USB adapter: https://www.ebay.com/itm/2A-Blue-Battery-Dual-USB-Charger-Adapter-Tools-for-Makita-BL1830-1430-Adapter/282546633419 Then extract it contents and attach to it my own wires and plug. What do you think?
PNWtooljunkie
The US version is Makita model ADP05 https://www.makitatools.com/products/details/ADP05It has two USB outlets, each put out 2.1 amps. I have one and use it to recharge my cell phone and power an air card. The Makita website link above has links at the bottom of the page to the manual and parts breakdown. That should provide all the info you need. But as for powering another device, I’m sure you simply need a cable with USB on one end and device specific connection on the opposite end. https://cdn.makitatools.com/apps/cms/doc/prod/ADP/330f481e-2dd3-4d13-a483-20ec418cdac4_ADP05-PB_Breakdown_ADP05_11-16.pdfhttps://cdn.makitatools.com/apps/cms/doc/prod/ADP/ff2be9f8-87bb-4e3f-9ac7-f78d45cc9f46_ADP05_IM.pdfSent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
PNWtooljunkie
User manual states output is 5V DC @ 2.1 Amps, per USB port. Both USB ports together would provide 5V DC @4.2amps. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
PNWtooljunkie
The coffee maker DCM500Z comes with an optional battery adapter. https://www.makitatools.com/products/details/DCM500ZSpecs on battery adapter are 18V DC output. A similar battery adapter powers the first version of the Makita backpack vacuum (for use with roto hammer dust extraction). I think this vac uses 18v X2–so 2 batteries. But I can’t recall that model #. Current model is XVC05ZI don’t think these adapters are sold separately, but they have individual part numbers for the breakdown list. I would bet a Makita dealer would purchase for you the battery adapter if you didn’t want to purchase the entire tool (coffee maker or backpack vacuum)Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
kat
It looks like the adapter from the coffee maker has a different and unusual DC connector. The one from the heat jacket looks like a standard connector. I have the ADP05 but 5V is not enough for my soldering iron. I need at least 12V, and 18+ would be ideal because it gets hot faster. aessu
Just keep in mind that over discharging kills batteries. Especially with the Makita protection electronics. The battery might still be perfectly good after charging the cells with a different charger, but it wont work with tools because the protection electronics mark it as bad.
