marsh942
Guys! I’m considering investing in a drill-powered lock mortising jig. The company I work for has a job (with a ridiculously short timeframe) that includes around 30 doors. To help make things more efficient and hopefully relieve a little bit of pressure on myself Im think buying one of these would do the trick, along with some other Trend goodies! Im wondering if anyone on here has any experience with them? If so, what are your thoughts? I’ve read that it has to be operated by a corded drill with 3000rpm+, can anyone confirm this? Would my cordless 18v with 2200rpm be suitable? Also, the hafele one is $450 AUD or I could buy a cheaper brand for around $300 AUD. I usually go with ‘buy cheap, buy twice’ but I’m not sure how much of a difference it would make on one of these. Any feedback would be great! Links below! SetBuilder
Locks of that style are not very common in The States. Some of the older homes used that style, but I rarely see them any more. This is pretty much the standard boring set up we use https://www.kwikset.com/products/details/accessories/138-instl-kit.aspx. and this is a nice set for mortising hinges in doors and jams https://www.cpooutlets.com/porter-cable-59381-hinge-butt-template-kit/pcbn59381,default,pd.html?ref=pla&zmam=31282435&zmas=47&zmac=722&zmap=pcbn59381&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIw_b099nW3AIVBsNkCh35Zwn5EAQYAiABEgIhtPD_BwE
