Tools you’d love to see but probably won’t

So I’m in the market for a new drill press and left me wondering why Dewalt hasn’t made one. That got me thinking what other tools I’d like for them to release but probably won’t. So for conversation sake I’ll start with my list:

Bench top or stand along drill press

Spindle sander

Jointer

Drum Sander

Cordless biscuit jointer

These could very well be coming down the pipeline but I just don’t see dewalt coming out with the stationary tools (a concept I don’t understand because I feel like their lunchbox planer is amazing).

So what would you guys love to see in Dewalt’s R&D department?

I’ll bite! My wish list would be:

- 18V T50 Stapler (based on form factor to new cable-stapler)

- 18V Hot Glue Gun

- 54V Belt Sander

- 18V (54V?) Heat Gun

- 54V Capsule Coffee Machine (Why not?)

- 54V (Tstak) Active Drinks Cooler

- 54V Oscillating Fan (bigger form factor than current 18V fans - which I love)

- 18V detail sander

- 54V ‘Brompton style’ folding bike.

1. Compact 1/2" brushless impact wrench.  I would have thought we would see this year's ago but for some reason dewalt decided to bow out to milwaukee in this category.

2.  60v metal cutting circular saw 8"ish blade.  I've used a milwaukee corded 8" for years and the thing is an animal.  Recently we started using the m18 fuel 5 3/8" and while they are impressive with what they can cut I think dewalt would have a winner with 60v power.  I'd love to see this but I don't know how big the market is.

Belt sander is definitely on my wish list too! Forgive my ignorance but what’s a detail sander?

Sander that takes standard ‘pointed’ hook-loop pads. Essentially, a one-handed, more refined, less tiring option than using the current multi tool triangle  adapter.

Ryobi’s version looks like this:

R18PS-0&category=00400006000d&width=350&

I know these will be coming sometime. But who knows when,

new impact and drill driver.

after comparing with a mates Milwaukee gen3. They crap all over the Dewalt :(

The cooling performance of the gen 3 is a downgrade over the gen 2 and the DeWALT.

That’s not a surprise to hear at all. Compactness is great and all and it seems to have been a huge point of emphasis on gen 3, but sometimes I reach for the heavier tool simply because I know it won’t get as hot even though the small tool is perfectly capable.

Those gen 3s might be heating up because of the higher current of the HD batteries too. Don't know enough about them, but the science would back that up.

Cordless Belt Sander

Cordless Pressure Washer (40v)

Cordless Magnetic Drill Press

Cordless Coil Roofing & Siding Nail Guns

Cordless Biscuit Joiner

Cordless (Tough System?) Coffee Maker

Tough System Vacuum

I don't know why DeWalt won't get into belt sanders.  I don't think they even sell a corded one in the USA.

Roofing nailer would be great but might not happen because roofs get hot and that kills batteries.

Biscuit jointer needs to happen too.. come on DeWalt

Plenty of YT videos of these Chinese bikes hooked up to cordless drills, but if Dewalt made one with a built in built-in motor + 20V battery mount and pushed ‘em out as a $200 promo, who wouldn’t buy one? Or two?

Probably too many regs for it to happen though.

How about real tools?

I have a complete set of dewalt but have to go to Milwaukee for a riveter now they have two styles as dewalt have none, a nine inch grinder would be perfect on the 54v range, a porta power hydraulic pump, & while we are dewalt tough system 2 boxes a big fail!
