luddite20@gmail.com
I just went out to change the blades on my 2012NB planer. I haven't used it for over 2 years. I changed one blade, went to rotate the spindle, and it wouldn't move. I plugged it in and tried to turn it on, light turns on but it won't engage the spindle. HELP! CATERPILLAR
Does it hum or anything ? Check the easiest things first like the cord then the brushes . Make sure they are making contact with the armature. Also look at the commutator bars while the brushes are out to see if it's in good condition , is it belt driven if so check the belt ? . If non of these are it see if you can bypass the switch so its directly on with alligator clips of something similar.
Alex parera
The ballbearing(s) where possible become too hot and melting out of its position because of the heat a melting machine house or sometimes only the bearing(s) are worn dry or just only dirty. Cordless Steve
Take the blades out, and see if the drum rotates, you may have put the wrong blades in (too wide) maybe?
