I was hoping the batteries from my 18v makita drill driver set would work....they don’t fit. If I buy the 6ah battery will my DC18SD charger charge the new battery. ToolBane Posted May 26, 2020 Report Share Posted May 26, 2020 That shouldn’t be an issue, it’s strange your other batteries don’t fit. Is it a 2Ah perhaps? Also check relative prices for 6Ah vs 5Ah. In the US at least you can often get 2x5Ah batteries for the price of just one 6Ah, and other than run time there isn’t going to be any appreciable difference.
