  1. Yes. They're the p107.
  2. Hi guys/gals, I purchased a large kit about two years ago..now all the tools have worked great but in less than two years I've had both batteries fail on me and also the charger died. All under warranty but still left without a charger for about a week... Is this the normal life for the batteries and the charger?

Well guys/gals, It took me a while but here it is. All shined up and ready to go. I took the advice and kept the dewalt. I even added the led light which is great.....

Thanks for the info...no the Hitachi is not sliding. I'll try it out this weekend and see which one I keep. Thanks. The footprint on the dewalt is huge...looks really well built and heavy duty in comparison to the Hitachi.....

hi guys/gals... I brought my miter saw home today, checked the belt and the brushes as well as the alignment and everything is ok. One thing I must say in risk of sounding like a wuss... holy crap this thing is powerfull. I'm used to my 10 inch hitachi miter saw and my dw745 table saw and this dw718 feels a lot more powerfull in fact a little scary... I'm not sure I'm confortable using it. I might end up selling it and keeping my 10 inch...not sure yet.. Also I have been looking at used 12 inch sliding miter saw and the prices range tremendously even within the dewalt brand. I noticed the model that I have dw718 is a lot of times more expensive that other brand new ones? are some people just wanting to make a buck or is there something to this saw that is making it $$$$ thanks for the feedback. (as you can probably tell I'm a diy and in no way expert on powertools)
  6. just wanted to share that today HD is offering a dewalt 12in. dual bevel sliding miter with stand for 399...

thanks for the info. I will post pictures as soon as bring it from storage... I'm pretty exited. I currently have a 10 inch Hitachi single bevel non-sliding miter if I get this up and running right I'll have to make a decision on which one to keep.....I'm just a diy'er with limited space and the dw718 is overkill for what I use it for and one of them will have to be sold.....

Hi guys/gals, I need your help, I received a Dewalt dw718 as a gift. The problem is that its in pretty bad shape, I've been looking for videos on youtube on how to restore and get it in best shape possible and I was unable to find. Its been pushed hard and neglected but it just got a better home.....I've never done it and have no idea where to star...Where do I start? Thanks....
  9. I guess I could do that, I hated the drill that came in the kit (dcd771) and sold it on craigslist (bare tool) and replaced it with the dcd777 that I like a lot more.
  10. Thank you everyone for your replies and Ideas. I've already got the tools so there is no going back and even though they are not the best they are actually overkill for what I use them plus I guess once you divide the 500 in to the 9 items plus the charger and batteries it comes out ok (I guess you get what you pay for)...Just a lot of projects in mind and can't wait to use my yellow tools.
  11. not sure I get the penny reference.

    newbie here...

Hi all, I've always been interested in power tools and diy projects and for a few years I stated buying Harbor freight tools and black and decker, Last year I decided to upgrade my tools when I saw the combo below during black Friday at 499.99. I thought all dewalt tools where pro-grade but now that I have been researching realized that I was wrong. I always thought Black and decker, Ryobi , Ridgid homeowner and dewalt , milwaukee , Makita, hilti and porter cable pro. And I realized that its much more complicated than that.. I know for a fact that the recip. saw does not have a movable shoe and the circ. saw has a metal base instead of the fancy one but are they the same insides? The only tool from this combo that I did not like was the drill which I upgraded (at least that what I think) to the new dcd777 entry level. would you consider this combo at 500 a good deal? Are the tools in this combo kit any good? or did they just paint the Black and decker tools yellow? http://www.homedepot.com/p/DEWALT-20-Volt-MAX-Lithium-Ion-Cordless-Combo-Kit-9-Tool-DCK940D2/206510146
  13. I'm a diy'er and purchased this drill about a month ago to replace the dcd771(I hated it), and so far it has not disappointed...It did come with two 1.5 batts and a slow charger but I already have two 2.0 xr batts and a fast charger so not a huge deal. Actually now I have two chargers and four batteries for all my dewalt 20v tools... the dcd771 performed well for me but it was a bit too long and it actually looked like a toy....my .02
