SHOP TIP: Magstrip Project (Home Made from recycled Parts)

well I am all about using old parts and such, I had a bunch of old computer hard drives and if you didn't know it they have incredible strong magnets. I tool them apart and used them to make a magnetic strip to hang odd shaped tools ect ect..

 

Hard Drives torn down......

left with a pile of strong magnets.....

I took some thin plastic channel i had laying around and with 2 sided tape I placed the magnets in place.....

I then mounted the strip and added some tools.......

There was something missing and it looked plain so I added a name......

overall this thing will hang most if not all tools.....especially odd shaped ones...

Comp I always look forward to your posts. You are a pretty talented guy. Genious idea by the way, i like that it is with recycled parts. What do you use to create your graphics?

Where'd the plastic come from, it looks like capping from a bowling lane

very well could be can't remember where I got it. I gather things all the time for future use........might have had that for 2 years......

I thought for sure your pictures would end here with a caption at the bottom saying "Modern Art" lol.  Nice project.  I'm working on something similar for a Christmas gift.  I'll post when it's complete.
