  1. I am going to try and smoke a turkey. Do you have any recipes or any tips and tricks?
  2. We have some of the boxes and I have to say so far they are great, they really surprised. Overall the boxes seem rugged and tough. I like the single lever open and lock. The latch is big so you not fumbling around. Not sure but the boxes seem bigger than the Milwaukee. Attaching them together is extremely easy, maybe even easier than the Milwaukee. Once they are locked, they seem to hold together well. Unlocking them is just a lever and you can pull up. So far very impressive.
  3. Those are very cool. I bought customized coins through Etsy. My buddy was into crypto and found someone who made a coin for him. I am sure if you look around there, someone can make it.
  4. Sweet, sounds like a good feast. I am sure I asked this about your Blackstone but forgot. Does your top lay flat? When i got mine, it was warped. I called them and said it was common, which seemed weird. They said that after 7 times of using it, it will lay flat. While they were right, there are times when the bend will come back which is annoying when trying to cook.
  5. LOL, I hope we can still say that, but probably not for much longer. That's awesome you have that by you for training. I know we have some stuff by us. I am just in a catch 22. I need to do this with my 15 yr old but finding the time and money is hard, but I need to get my kids out there and be trained.
  6. Look like great boxes. Husky has some good stuff and the prices isn't extreme.
  7. I don't use those meters much but Fluke is one of the best. I see so many people use them. As with yours, it's amazing how old some of them are. Nowadays, everything is disposable so it's nice to see some things last.
  8. That's crazy but good to know there are communities out there like for different projects.
  9. That's an insane price, but it's great for you. I am surprised no one on a Porsche forum knows either. That is weird. When you look up German screwdrivers, the list goes on and on. You even find a bunch of small brands.
  10. nice buy on both the car and the tools. Wera is awesome. I haven't used them much but from the ones we have tried here, they are great.
  11. Looks pretty cool. Amazing how these are getting more common. I never realized how much you can do with these.
  12. Yes, agree 100%, I love the pellet grill and it's so easy. I also have a center smoker. It's awesome but you have to attend to it, it's not a set-and-forget.
  13. Yes, it would be hard to get rid of those items, and think it would be very cool to have them around for the kids and grandkids. All that stuff would be hard to part with and don't think I would. It's like my FD stuff, I keep it since I retired, not sure why except it has some memories and I know that was mine stuff I wore. I just have to get over the hump of getting rid of stuff I do not need like 20 fishing rods. I only need a couple, it's stuff like that.
  14. OK, I can see what I can find out about the directions or anything. Just not familiar with that unit.
  15. Before you mess around with that, have you tried using different gas, new, fresh gas, or even TruFuel? When we talk with OPE manufacturers, they always tell us that 90% of the reasons these small engines stall or have issues are because of bad or old gas. Fuel doesn't last as long as it used to, which was news to me when I first heard that.
  16. I hear you about attachment. I have stuff I hang onto when I know I shouldn't. The logical part (my small part of my Brain) says to get rid of an item while the other side of my brain says to keep it. Sounds like you have some very cool things. I am the same with the FD stuff I have. Some of the stuff I have I will never use, but I keep it.
  17. Very cool. Once you get it, post a picture. Yes, a fan is key. My garage is small so I am looking for something small. I am going to do the same thing and have some type of fan.
  18. Great questions. I will try and answer them but the owner's manual will give more concrete answers. You will not be disappointed with a stove. I have a fireplace insert for my house and it's awesome. My next purchase is a stove for my garage so I will be doing the same thing you are in a year or two. Having the fan will be nice to move air around, I am going to do the same thing. For 400 sq-ft, you will not need anything big or substantial. The one thing I would look for is one that is deep. Some stoves do not have deep bottoms which means you have to clean them out more often. It's not a huge deal for a shop if you are not running it all the time, but if you are burning this 24-7, then it's a pain. It's even better if you have free wood. In regards to the 90-degree exit, you will have to look at an owner's manual. When I did my research a while back, some had a minimum height they suggested before a 90-degree turn in order to get proper air flow and create a draft. So that i will not be able to offer any help. In regards to going through plywood, I am not sure about the setup you have but those pipes get extremely hot. The owner's manual will let you know all the clearance you need. The insert I have in my house creates so much heat, that my hardwood floors get to hot. My insert sits on stone and the wood floor is about 18" away from the insert and the floor gets so hot. I had to buy a fireproof mat to keep over that area of the floor. Now if you go with a double insulted pipe, it won't get as hot, but my guess is it will still be hot enough where you can run it alongside wood. Since it's in the shop, I am sure there are things you can buy that can withstand the heat that you can screw to the wall to give protection instead of having to put a stone or a non-combustible material up. Sorry, I thought I could answer more questions but I do know that these stoves produce a ton of heat and you can not have any combustible material like plywood in close proximity to the stove. I am here in Chicago so winter is coming up so I might get back into thinking about getting a stove for my garage. I will see what I can find and update this as I find stuff.
  19. Can't wait to check that out. I am a huge fan of Ego so this will be a great addition.
  20. Thanks for letting me know about upgrading to the metal frame. Nothing more annoying than trying to put out a tray or deal with something that ends up being a pain in the ass. I like the idea of a custom solution, will have to look into that, never even crossed my mind.
  21. Great find and I would buy that in a second if it's just the handle that is broken. Yes, nice to have good neighbors, especially if they are in the trades.
  22. I have been eyeing this type of system for a while. Not sure what brand but I need something on my bench to keep small screws, nuts, and more. Right now I just have an old bucket that I throw everything in and it takes for ever when I need to find two of the same screw and nuts to match it. If you find something good, let us know. I might just go with the B&D, I don't need anything special for weight etc.
  23. Wow, that is cool. Considering how old it is and its color, I would say Milwaukee but it doesn't look like one I have seen before plus Milwaukee always had their names stamped or nice and bold somewhere on the tool. I think even when Swedish company Atlas Copco owned Milwaukee, they still had them stamped front and center. Makes me believe it might be a knockoff, but just a guess.
  24. Wish I could give more insight but don't know that much about these sanders. It looks like a good sander considering all the metal. I would think the only thing that would go wrong would be a motor which would have to be easy to replace.
  25. I hear you. I remodeled my whole house and it was a huge project. My house wasn't big but it took a long time. I took all the plaster down and stripped everything. I look back at it and don't know if I would have the energy to do it again. However in the end it was worth it. As long as you and your wife have patience, no worries. Best of luck and congratulations on the two new additions to the family.
