  2. Thanks for the reply. I actually purchased the 10.8V. It was a reconditioned kit that was half the price of the 18V. There has never been an issue with removing bolts or drilling with the 18V. Mostly removing up to 6mm Allen head and up to 14mm hex head. I work on a lot of machines from Europe. The sizes I deal with in standard usually are around the same size as their metric counterparts. If the drill isn't enough there are plenty of areas we can use it at work. I wasn't planning on buying it today but the deal was too good to pass up and my boss just wanted me to decide. I will update you on how it handles. Why does the M12 state 150 in/lbs on sites like amazon? Weird. Maybe it's referring to the drill and not the impact driver. Either way Makita hasn't disappointed me yet.
  3. I've seen someone using masking tape on their wood before making the cut. They said it kept it from chipping so much. Worth a shot. I imagine you could use the blue painters tape as well.
  4. I have the option to get a drill/ combo set right now for work. I work on machines and a big use for the impact driver will be removing bolts that may need a little extra mmmph. My boss owns the Makita 18V 1.5 ah Impact Driver and it works wonders, performs great. I wanted something smaller but I don't know if it will cut it and wanted your opinions. I was looking that the 10.8V which is 800 in/lbs torque vs the 18V 1280 in/lbs. I know Milwaukee is a good brand but when I looked at their 12V impact driver I saw that it is only 150 in/lbs torque is that right? How do these stack up to each other? Any advice would be great. BTW, I was hoping to have the drill attached to my belt or fit in a smaller tool bag, which is why I wanted the smaller one.
