Depends on the recon. A new Armature and field is the main working part and if they've been replaced (usually pricey) it will be all good. If its a mitre or slide compound saw you need to check things like the base and arm. But I guess it all depends on the tool you're buying

Is it a TR-12? they usually perform very well but like any Router need mantainence. Blow it out with compressed air and check the brushes too.Ditto on Buying quality bits as well, oak shouldnt trouble the router at all.
