Sounds goofy, but have you checked the oil level in the tank? Depends upon your compressor tyle, but some have a crank shaft and a seal could be cracked or worn and leaking air, not enough pressure. I would start by chekcing these two items first, then we can move from there.

I would go with new batteries. Lithium batteries are lighter and do hold a charge longer, but the go bad quicker which means you will not get that much use out of them. The Nicd will last you a long time especially since they will be sitting around. If you use tools everyday, go with the Lithium as they are worth it, but from what i see they are not for people who occasionally use them.

A lot of people still use hand saws. Its a lot more easy to be dead on accurate with a hand saw.

Wow good question. I from the states, so I can not help. I have seen other post to this forum and believe they are from Ireland. I think the best bet would be go to a local contruction site or local builder and start asking them. Most of them should be helpful

Your not going to go wrong with either. Personaly I like the Dewalt the best, just have had nothing bud good luck with these. A couple other guys I know love them, but again if you go with Dewalt, Bosch or Makita, you will be happy.

Wow pretty neat. I was reading the blog today and saw that. I bet that cost a lot of money.

They are suppose to both last a long time. We just moved into a house and it needed a back deck. The old one was a floating deck made of cedar and according to the previous owner it was over 27 years old. Just remeber if you don't do anything to cedar, it will loook more silver in the future. If you are going to stain the wood, I would go with treaded lumber as it will save you a bundle of money. Persoannly I like the natural look of cedar, but if I bought cedar, I wouldn't stain it.

I agree with carp. I have no problem and would like to be partt of this site more. I have recieved a lot of valuable information for myself and my clients. Plus I love free stuff. I would like to see how voting works.

I would go with the Milwaukee. Still a good company for now. Who knows down the road. I think $699 is a little high. You can get them online for about $600 or $625 with free shipping. Again though if you have a problem it is harder trying to get stuff done online, where you can walk into HD and return the item. They are nice kits and have a friend who has one. I really like them, but I bet they come down in price within a year. More companies are starting to follow Milwaukee and more competition will bring the price down.

I have never heard of jobmate tools. I agree with Gertk about Craftsman tools. Personally I use Snap on tools. Only reason is because I use to be an auto mechanic and had all these toold when I left the job. The only nock against Craftsman is their gas power tools. I would stay away from them, they suck. I bough a weedwacker, trimmer and blower. In about a year in a half everything broke, junk. I do like their power tools. MAybe they just have a crappy manufacture for their gas power stuff. To answer your question. Sometimes going cheap isn't tool bad esp if your not going to use them a lot. In this case I would spend a couple extra bucks and get a good tool. I have gone cheap on hand tools before and I end up getting more frusterated becuase they don't feel the same, they strip things easier etc. I know you don't have a Sears by you, but maybe you can check them out on their website. I just think Snap on tools are over priced. Great tools and I like them, but expensive.

Just received the newsletter and wanted to let you know that the screw box is a great idea. I will be building one for the job site. I have a little cart I wheel around with all my tools. My screws and nails are in boxes below and they are a pain to get to. I will be building one of these to make life easier. Thanks for the info.

I am looking to get another sawzall and wanted some input. I am going with the Mlwaukee but I noticed they know have a 13 amp saw. I can get the 11 amp orbital for about $45 cheaper. Is the extra $45 worth it to get the 13 amp or should I stay with the 11 amp. Thanks in advance.

Just wanted to say great site. I love tools and I have been waiting a long time for a good tool site. I would have started one, but I am not good at computers. Looking forward to see the forums grow and I will always add my two cents. Keep up the good work.
