  1. This is mostly true. I would also be tuning in to actual tradies reviews over others, if they are any good. That's why I like James from OurBuild. We would like to do the follow up a year later, but the problem is that MOST reviewed tools (not all) don't get a lot more use after the review. I've probably reviewed 5 impact drivers in the last year, which means that with my own irregular DIY projects, none of them get enough use to speak honestly about long-term use. A few tools however, do get a lot of use as we just love using them (e.g. Mike and I have both used the M18 FUEL Circ saw extensively), and we will likely talk about this more than once.
  2. Bought one of these this weekend! So cool.
  3. I think the all-yellow tools that Dewalt makes (like their electric planers) are a bit ugly. They need the black stylings. I think this one looks fine. Where would you want the overmould DR? I'm not sure it'd be a good idea to put any more rubber on it, it is an SDS-Max unit...
  4. Variable speed. Would you use variable speed on a rotary hammer drill much?
  5. I don't want to see brushed tools dissapear. But I think they will. Plasma TV's, despite being a superior picture, dissapeared because LED LCD marketing won out, and plasmas weren't cost effective to make anymore. In recent times, none of the brushed tools have been competitive in run-time in any of our comparisons.
  6. I think that the 3D nature of the connection must make them a energy transfer as well, but couldn't say for sure. next time you want to put a boiling-hot blade back on your multi-tool, you'll be thinking about starlock
  7. CORRECT! Take it dmz And apologies for not giving you the floor for your first EGO answer Korno
  8. me too. I just don't see 12V handing around that much longer.
  9. Holy crap that's a lot of juice!
  10. Getting closer. The Hilti is 6Ah x 36V = 216 Wh
  11. did you watch the review? It's a hands-free fitment!
  12. Wow EGO! That EGO battery would have 50.4V x 9Ah = 454 Wh. There's no power tool battery with close to that. The ProCORE Endurance 10.5Ah (once it's out) will have 18 x 10.5 = 189Wh. But there are power tool batteries with more juice than that already out.
  13. Definitely! Dang it, I was thinking only about power tools. Who you got for tools (instead of OPE)?
  14. Fluked it. What is the highest Watt Hour (Ah x Voltage) battery available on the market?
  15. Are you talking about the new battery Bostitch nailers which are rebadged Dewalts?
  16. FEIN haven't sent us anything for a few years now. Hopefully they'll get on board again.
  17. Lol, hopefully I don't give that vibe off very often! Nah we have actually not reviewed or used a FEIN OMT ....
  18. Sorry for the delay. dmz2084 is right in that I was thinking about the brushless Bosch recip. But Jronman gave a correct answer first (I didn't know the Makita had a variable speed dial as well), so you're up.
  19. If the chuck is good quality (which I agree, the Rohm chucks are), the wobble is more likely coming from the spindle right? Does the wobble actually affect your work? If not, forget about it and enjoy the drill.
  20. What 18V tool contains a variable speed trigger, variable speed dial, orbital/pendulum settings, adjustable shoe/plate and quick change bit/blades.
  21. As far as I know, it's Bosch (12V and 18V), Milwaukee M12, Festool, Metabo and Fein. Bosch, Milwaukee and Festool have a few different types of chucks (right-angle, offset, 1/4" bit holder etc) Metabo have a quick change chuck, but the only compatible 'chucks' are the little 1/4" 'bit holder it comes with, and the huge torque multiplier, so I assume you don't mean that. FEIN also have a removable chuck with a little 1/4" hex bit holder. Come to think of it, maybe they have other chucks, but I don't remember seeing any.
  22. I don't count the multi-tool (or the drywall cutter personally, but meh whatever). I believe the tilesaw only comes in 12V. So by might count you're up to 14. My answer was Makita with 17 (add their 18x2 7-1/4" circ saw, their 2nd bandsaw and their 2nd metal cutting saw). You're up Korno.
