  1. For the smaller roloc discs I've used 3m stuff and it never disappoints. I usually use the scotch brite pads on a die grinder and they work good for rust but they clog up with paint so keep that in mind. I wouldn't reccomend them with a grinder, I would use something like this https://www.amazon.com/Paint-Rust-Stripping-Cup-Wheel/dp/B008GS91TE. They do make the scotch brite type discs for an angle grinder but you need to get a backing pad and for just a bit more you can get these which I think do a better job with an angle grinder
  2. I'm suprised it is. My uncle bought an 85 Chevy truck up there and it didn't have any rust whatsoever. I figured if they are this bad in Missouri where I'm at then they must be Swiss cheese there.
  3. I'm not going cold this winter. I bought the last one CPO had in my size. They were on sale for about $150 so I bought one.
  4. When I got my m18 impacts I tried to baby them but getting scratches on then was inevitable. My 3/8 impact has a few scuffs and dings and the white paint has worn off but it really doesn't bother me too much. I'll clean the dirt, rust, grease off of them fairly regularly though. My hand tools are about the same too. My ratchet handles have a few scratches and scuffs on them but I keep them clean though. I can't stand grabbing a wrench or ratchet that has oil or grease on it. A lot of my tools have scratches or scuffs but that is just going to happen under normal use no matter how much you baby your tools. Here is what my m18 3/8 impact looks like now after about 7-8 months of use.
  5. Ignore that second link it is the same as the first and for some reason I can't edit my post but here is the link for the standard set. https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B000ROE4FQ/ref=pd_aw_sim_469_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=DBDEG4ANX0T6VS9871GA
  6. They do make some bigger sets that go up to 22mm for the metric set and up to 1 inch for the standard set. It was more money but that is the route I went. Here is the metric sethttps://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B000LQDB86/ref=mp_s_a_1_sc_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1472178876&sr=8-6-spell&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_QL65&keywords=sumex+3%2F8+impact+socket+set, and here is the standard. https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B000LQDB86/ref=mp_s_a_1_sc_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1472178876&sr=8-6-spell&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_QL65&keywords=sumex+3%2F8+impact+socket+set
  7. They did come out with one but like Jimbo said it isn't as powerful as the m18 wrench. They just swapped a 3/8 anvil into one of the brushless impact drivers. I think they said 150 ft lbs at the flex volt event.
  8. Their Pittsburgh pro line of ratchets are excellent for the money. They are rediculously strong. I would avoid anything with an electric cord on it from there. I usually check the reviews on anything I buy from there too.
  9. Try attempting to put heads on an engine and the only ratchet at hand was a 3/8 craftsman ratchet. My dad and I were putting an engine together for one of his friends at his place and we made the mistake of not bringing some of our tools down there. That was a massive mistake. That thing would constantly skip teeth and it drove me insane. I don't understand how they can make a ratchet that bad. Even the harbor freight ratchets I have are a joy to use compared to them.
  10. Surprisingly the white is still almost perfect on my 2763 1/2 impact. I think the only fluids that have touched it are motor oil and gear oil and it didn't hurt it at all. It has fell off a lift a couple of times and it didn't bother it a bit.
  11. I didn't buy a boot for my m18 impact and this is what it looks like after a few months of use.
  12. I'll try to take some this week if I can remember. I think that they come in three different lengths, 9,12, and 15 inches and you can only get the clips in 25 packs but they are pretty cheap though.
  13. The new mid size trucks are just as big to the older full size trucks. Here is s picture of a new Colorado compared to a 67-72 half ton Chevy.
  14. We had one of those 5 gallon water coolers at the dealer I used to work at and I could drink half of it if it was above 95 out. That day i sweat so much that the color on my uniform pants ran onto my socks.
  15. if you look at one with a 5 cylinder make sure that the cylinder head has been replaced, they would lose compression and then misfire due to a design flaw and eventually they would all do it.
  16. it shouldn't be hard at all. Just center punch where you want to drill and I would start with a smaller bit around an 1/8 or so and you should be fine.
  17. My universal sockets arrived the other day. What is super cool about these is that there are adjusters for the tension on both pivot points.
  18. Same here. If the bolt won't break loose it will just snap it off. It will break a grade 8 5/8 bolt of you let it hammer long enough.
  19. The few flex head ratcheting wrenches I ordered came from Utah. Also if you sign up for the Carlyle club you get a card that is good for %10 percent I think. I'm not sure if you can use it on tools that are already on sale.
  20. That's s good price. I paid 200 for just the tool. Mine didn't come with a belt clip, I don't believe they came with one.
  21. Ive got a bad feeling about this quarter. Those sockets are super cheap. I'm feeling the 3/8 metric flex sockets and possibly the mid length too.
  22. I have the Milwaukee fuel 3/8 impact and it has performed flawlessly for me. Since you said he already has dewalt stuff I would wait until they release the new 20v brushless 3/8 impact. It only has 150 ft lbs though. If you have deep enough pockets I would get him the new ingersoll rand 3/8 that TIA did the video on recently.
  23. It was a little cheaper than HD but not much. I just needed more of an area light.
  24. The Amazon fairy dropped these off today.
  25. Now that I've been using the impact professionally at my new job I figured I'd update you guys on how it's holding up. I've used this impact to do anything from tire rotations to brake jobs and it has worked great. once in a while I run across a stubborn lug nut that it can't remove but so long as the lug nuts were torqued the last time the car was serviced it will have no issue with them. The runtime is still incredible with a 5.0 battery, I have charged it twice since I started about a month ago. One thing I have noticed is that the fourth mode doesn't work on lug nuts but for what ever reason it will work on anything else. I'm not sure if it has something to do with aluminum wheels or what. That is the only issue I've had with the gun but if that is the only issue with it I will be pleased. It still has plenty of power and hasn't lost any since I bought it. I haven't compared it to my air 3/8 but I also haven't used it since I bought this either. I have cut the hose since I bought this impact and I doubt I will use one again for 3/8 drive.
