  1. I would believe that. It usually takes all I have with two wrenches to undo those. I can't use a socket since they are 12 point. The thread locker they use from the factory is no joke. The worst I have come across though is GM threadlocker. We had to do the rear brakes on one of my friends dads truck. It was a 2008 2500 HD and we barely broke the top caliper bolt loose and we tried to get the bottom one loose but we just couldn't get it to come loose. This was before I had my m18 1/2 impact but we used my 600 ft lbs air impact and let it hammer for 15 or so seconds but it didn't budge. We had to pry the caliper until we could change the pads. It was a nightmare.
  2. Glad to see I made you give in. Let us know how you like it. I need to take mine apart and lube it. I can post pictures of it if you want. The ratcheting mechanism should be the same.
  3. Go to the 4:10 mark in this video to see it in use.
  4. Are they actually impact wrenches or are they essentially a screwgun with a square drive end? At least that's what I thought they were. The machine GM uses for head bolts on their v8 engines torques every bolt at the same time to the same torque. It is a wicked cool machine but it just runs them down like a screwgun and doesn't impact.
  5. The carlyles are some of the best ones I've used. The long 3/8 was about $45 if I remember right. The roto ratchet was 60 or so I think. I Like them way better than the Pittsburgh ratchets. They don't flex as much and they ratchet much smoother. They are incredibly strong too. The 100 tooth is on almost all of the trucks and I saw it first with the Carlyle name on it. I'm not sure if they were the first ones to use it though. It is just the bottom portion of my toolbox. I havent bought a cart yet
  6. Here are the ratchets that live in my toolbox. My most used ratchets are the Carlyle ones. The 3/8 snap on ratchet is the newest one.
  7. I've seen them. They aren't worth the premium to me.
  8. I still haven't seen the NWS Irwin pliers at any lowes.
  9. The thing is though all impact wrenches I have used are designed so that they make a good amount more torque in reverse than in forward. I have the impact in question and it has removed every bolt thrown at it but one. I would contact Milwaukee and see what they say. Something isn't right there.
  10. I already have four though. I have Milwaukee and craftsman 18v, Bosch 12v and a dewalt 7.2v screw gun.
  11. If I wasn't in the Milwaukee lineup, I would have probably bought their compact brushless impact. That thing was an animal.
  12. Do you have any other metabo tools Kruton? I don't remember you ever having any.
  13. We need more people in the world like you Rich.
  14. My pictures didn't carry over so here is my family photo. This picture was taken before I had my 5.0 battery. I haven't added to the family since though.
  15. I'll try and get some of the engine assembly line the next chance I can but I had some synthetic brake grease in my toolbox so I used it for the time being. It smoothed up my Pittsburgh pro ratchet a bunch as it didn't have any oil in it. Here is the before and after video.
  16. I think that set didn't go through quality control. There is no finish work whatsoever on them. If you touch them in the wrong spot you are getting your finger cut open
  17. It's a pair of pliers for twisting safety wire
  18. What is the best lube/oil to use for ratchets? I took apart a couple of ratchets tonight to compare them and a lot of the oil that was in them ran out and I was wondering what to put in its place.
  19. Nice van and setup. I bet that there is a ton of room compared to the tundra. I bet the mileage is better too.
  20. I'm looking at getting a new service cart to keep my most used tools in. I'm currently looking at getting the 5 drawer red Harbor freight cart or possibly the Napa cart that stercorarius bought recently. If anyone else has any other reccomendations I would be glad to know what they are. All of the tool truck ones are ridiculously high so they are out of the question. Any input would be greatly appreciated. 21. The manufacturers really don't want people changing their own transmission fluid anymore. We went to change the trans fluid in a 2012 Dodge Avenger and it doesn't have a dipstick at all. If you look up the special tools required to change the fluid a dipstick is actually one of them. The fill tube just has a plug in it. What did you need the level for?
