Pretty boring answer, but the M12 Fuel drill is the only thing I looked at and said, "hmm, I might need." Thought I suspect I'll end up with a ratchet or two.

Once I get moved I'll be looking at a Laguna 14" (and the bigger Rikon)...

I can't get the link to open on my ancient iPad, but this sounds like a great excuse for justifying battery purchases to the significant other/SWMBO... "but honey, it's diamonds! Aren't diamonds a girl's best friend?"

Anybody know anything about them? My cousin says he's going to repay some money I loaned him a while back. From what research I've done thus far, the Rikon and the Jet are the leading candidates. https://www.rikontools.com/product/10-305 http://www.jettools.com/us/en/p/jwb-10-10-open-stand-bandsaw/714000 The Jet has significantly more power (1/2 HP vs. 1/3HP) but the Rikon gets glowing reviews online, where what little I find about the Jet is pretty much, "meh". The Jet is more expensive, but after you buy a stand for the Rikon, the gap closes considerably. I'm having a hard time confirming, but I thought I read that the Jet comes with a miter, but the Rikon might not? I honestly have no idea how I might use it... The only thing I know I have in front of me is replacing a curved picnic table bench made from 2x material, probably using cedar but a slight chance of using teak. My limited use of band saws in the past was in middle school shop class, so it was a big industrial saw, and pretty much all we used it for was cutting curves in 1" pine. "Resawing! What's that?" Now resawing seems like it might be something cool to try... Thanks, fells!

Yeah, I was thinking of the meme that says, "come to the dark side. We have cookies." Mmmm, cookies.

Star Wars comparisons are lost on me...

Hmmm, trying to figure out how I feel about this... do I set aside my hatred of Sawstop because of my desire to get some Festool sanders, or do I begin to shun Festool because I despise Sawstop?

AFAIK, the Bosch isn't yet available in NA (I hope I'm proven wrong soon!)... I don't really like DeWalt very much... I might take a look at the Grizzly...
-
Man, I want one of these and you're NOT helping... LOL
-
There's the battery replacement issue, too. I can't really see me getting any other cordless tools if I went with Festool, so no hoarding batteries like I've done with my M12 stuff buying kits, LOL. Much thanks, fellas. I think when I make the plunge (sorry!) it will be 110v. Now I can beat my head against the wall as to Festool or Makita.

I'd love this, but I'm just too lazy to do the legwork to get it. LOL

Just homeowner stuff... breaking down sheet goods, fixing stuff that breaks, maybe in the future building some furniture. Once I get moved, it will probably never leave the shop.

Hitachi Triple Hammer IP56 Impact Driver - oztooltalk review
BK13 replied to dwain's topic in Power Tools
I checked out this review a while ago, nice job, sir! I also watched another Hitachi review of yours, maybe on an impact wrench? Actually, now that I think about it, you have me pondering ANOTHER freaking battery platform. I think I hate you. LOL -
I'm starting to think I might "need" a track saw down the road. Undecided on brand as of this moment, though if I were to buy 'right his very second' the Makita is in the lead. My general question is this: manufacturers are beginning to release cordless track saws... Given that 90%+ of the time it's gonna be used with dust collection, what's the appeal? You already are dragging around a hose... and on the Festool, the power cable is already a part of the dust collection hose anyway, right? (home use, I'm NOT a pro contractor) Also, any current or past users, how do you like what you have, and any tips and tricks to share?

She could explain things to me as many times as she wants.

Yeah, but youre part of the evil cartel trying to sell us tools. On that note, I think I'll be placing an order later this week.

#DamnyouJimbo the return... 3/8" big brother to the 1/4" Proto I've had for a while.

You guys suck. I can see shiny blue goodness in my future... I need to lay a few pavers next to my driveway, since the GF can't seem to be able to NOT drive on the fookin' lawn... good enough excuse for new tools, right?

First thing... big assed shop with a big compressor and 240v everywhere. Then a 14" or bigger bandsaw, drill press of two, and a spindle sander. Also a lift for cars and trucks. I'd like to have one of the Euro market M12 1/2" impact wenches, and an M18 1/2" impact wrench with the old style 2655b 'ball pin detent' in a 2755 tool.

Thanks, Kato. I was posting from my phone but was a touch distracted. BMack, it's actually steel, just a rough finish, maybe Parkerizing. Still easy to get a hold of. And the knurling helps a bunch too.

I had replace a coil pack in my Expo, so I figured to drop in a new plug. For the life of me, I have no idea what happened to the ones I already have... the joys of working out of storage totes. So I bought this bad boy. %5BURL=http://s59.photobucket.com/user/badkarma13/media/tools/4BF05991-53D4-45D3-A2B9-20EF42F795CC_zpsqpaoqbue.jpg.html%5D%5BIMG%5Dhttp://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g303/badkarma13/tools/4BF05991-53D4-45D3-A2B9-20EF42F795CC_zpsqpaoqbue.jpg%5B/IMG%5D%5B/URL%5D %5BURL=http://s59.photobucket.com/user/badkarma13/media/tools/FC58C630-0EF9-4509-8C10-FF8E06111EC5_zpslim4f7rb.jpg.html%5D%5BIMG%5Dhttp://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g303/badkarma13/tools/FC58C630-0EF9-4509-8C10-FF8E06111EC5_zpslim4f7rb.jpg%5B/IMG%5D%5B/URL%5D
