I was looking at this set here http://www.mactools.com/en-us/Wrenches/Precision-Torque-Combination-Wrenches/SCLM14PT/14-PC-12-PT-Metric-Combination-Wrench-Set- It's not necessarily mac or die for me, but the mac wrenches appeal to me for some reason.

My latest purchase is a blue point 3/8's drive ratchet used off ebay. I really want a set of mac combination wrenchs but those puppies ain't cheap.

So I definitely have a hankering for an m12 fat pack. I'm wondering if I should just buy the 4ah or keep wishing for a 5ah. You guys heard anything?

For many years I've always thought the more batteries the better. While there is no denying having plenty of packs on hand is very handy, where does a guy draw the line? I myself, have come to the conclusion that age of the batteries is more detrimental than actual use. I've heard storage temperature can play a big role in life of cells, but I personally don't know if there are any real life gains to be had in a controlled enviroment. What are your thoughts on battery packs?

Kinda blows my mind that all the manufactures didn't have 5ah battery's a few months ago. The Sony vtc5 2600 mah 30 amp continuous discharge cells have been out for a good while now. I suspect that's what's in the metabo 5.2ah packs but that's just speculation

I'm kinda familiar with how pulse width modulation works, I hear people talking about frequencies, megahertz, duty cycles and what not. Still don't have a clue on how to work on it though lol, when it comes to electronics, I'm just a parts changer. Like I told Dan, I was keeping a pretty good eye on stuff. The esc was cool to the touch just before it gave up the ghost. Internal short of some sort, you should've seen the smoke and fire, it was a pretty good show. Only thing that really sucks is that it melted most of the connections attached to the esc, also left a little discoloring on my pretty blue anodized motor lol

Yea, I went for a brushless one from the get go. It's 3300kv

yea, everything was in good working order the esc was actually running cooler than the motor and then poof, up in smoke. I'd bet it was an internal short of some kind.

Ahh it all boils down to interest, you'd have it all figured out within the hour.. On a side note though... my old man has a 1/2" drive proto ratchet that slips every now and again. I'd bet it's been abused seeing as how the handle is about 18" long, any chance of a warranty?

I think it's fairly obvious that it was a faulty part to begin with, hopefully the dealer sees that too.

So like the title says, I received my first rc in the mail today. A redcat volcano epx pro. It did well through the first nimh pack and the next two 2s lipo packs. On the third lipo it produced a huge could of smoke and caught on fire lol. I figure it's a faulty esc from the factory but would appreciate other's opinions.

Fairly small/new collection. Although I'm already certain I can't live without an m12 fuel impact driver

It's all personal preference. I myself prefer a bag on the jobsite, and a hard case at the house

Something I'll never understand, you know they spent a shit load of money changing tooling to give us a sub par product.

A coworker of mine has had great success with aftermarket batteries from ebay. I think one could be had for about $25. Although, if you plan on using it much I'd probably recommend a new kit.
