Drill still runs, it just smells . Torque seems to be ok..

Milwaukee power plus/ made in germany...the model # wore off the sticker. It about 15 years old..

My older 18 v power plus has a burned smell when I turn it on. Would changing the brushes remedie the situation ? I took it apart but don't know where the brushes are hidden...
