  1. So you bought another chuck that is different from the original? If there is no screw then the whole chuck should screw onto the body. Possibly reverse threaded.
  2. Is it possible the chuck is stripped/broke? Take it to your closes authorized/factory repair center and have them check it out for you.
  3. I did not say the DWS7085 was a bad product. I said it doesn't sell very well.
  4. Sounds like they may have reinvested some of the money they saved by removing the XPS light functionality and reinvested into the power in the motor in the type 20? Also, it's not a scheme to get people to buy the more expensive model. Customers aren't going to spend an extra $200 for the DWS780 slide saw just because it has the light. It was a business decision based on poor sales of the DWS7085.
  5. The decision was made a while back when we were switching manufacturing locations to remove the ability to add the DWS7085 to the DW713, DW715 and DW716 so everything that has been built since the beginning of 2013 is affected. You cannot purchase parts in order to convert the saw to an earlier "type" because the motor no longer has the lead wires that are required to plug the DWS7085 into. This decision was made because of very low sales of the XPS light and laser. Currently the only saw manufactured today that will accept the DWS7085 is the DW717. The DWS780 has the XPS light already built in. The product manager I spoke with is looking into the wording on the website to see if communication of compatibility can be improved.

being it the UK changes everything. I'm sure the part numbers are different than in the U.S. Try and reach out to Dewalt there in the UK.

KA just means it came as kit with a battery. I believe the part you're looking for is in the link I provided. When I search "DC410" on the site, it automatically directs me to the DC410KA. If you want to know for sure, call a Dewalt Service Center, you can find one close to you here. http://servicenet.dewalt.com/Home
  8. I have sent a e-mail to one of our product mangers and am waiting on a response. I'll follow up here.

611672-00 is the part number you're looking for according to http://servicenet.dewalt.com/Products/Detail?productNumber=DC410KA . Is that the nut you purchased?
  10. yep, the 20v (Eur 18v XR) band saw has already been announced and is due out in March here in the states. There is also a 20v grease gun that just started shipping in the US. I hope you guys in Europe get them soon as well!
  11. No, 20v slide pack batteries do not work in 18v stem pack tools. 2 different battery platforms. I hope you enjoy your tools, let us know if you have any other questions!
  12. Fair enough. I don't have one so I can't look right now and wouldn't be able to until sometime next week. I'm more used to changing the blades on the DWS780/DW718. When you take it back to where you bought it, I would ask the folks there and see if anyone can show you. I assure you it's not a defect. The blade got on the saw, it's gotta be able to come off.
  13. http://youtu.be/0tRmGdMBIPY?t=3m5s check out this video. notice he loosens two screws to move the guard away. Hope this helps!
