  1. I'm not entirely sure what your question is. If you are asking if you can take your repair to a DeWALT service center in person, then he answer is definitely yes. DeWALT service centers are walk in friendly. Best of luck.
  2. I can't remember for sure, as I haven't messed with a 708 in a long time, but I believe that there is a tightening screw under the miter clamp. Look underneath the clamp handle and look for a screw that you can tighten. Hopefully that is correct and helps you out!

    Dcd995 gear issue

It's not a "quirk", it's just the way the gears mesh. It is really common in 3 speed drills.

    Dcd995 gear issue

It isn't a problem, just happens sometimes/with some if the drills. The 18v versions (dcd950/970) typically didn't do that, but the newer versions can. It's just part of the way this particular 3 speed transmission syncs up.
  5. Why do you need to send it to your brother to exchange? You can exchange it at any lowes, or take it to your nearest service center. I would definitely recommend having it replaced or repaired. If you open the tool yourself, you will void all warranties. It definitely shouldn't have failed, and I would get it take care of. Call 1-800-4-DeWALT if you want to find the nearest place to exchange or return it.
  6. If you're near a service center, take your batteries AND your charger to be tested. I am guessing that your charger may be bad.
  7. It's out now, but it will be at limited distributors at this point. You will start seeing it a lot more over the next month or two.
  8. There isn't a part number for it, but the dcd995m2 brushless hammer drill comes in a hard case. You would have to find someone who wants to get rod of their case. All combo kits are in bags now, and individual tools are in kit boxes.
  9. Take them to your nearest service center. If you do not know where that is, you can google it or call 1-800-4-DeWALT. If your batteries have yellow tops, they will both be under warranty.
  10. Not really, more like a 20v compatible promotional sku lik the dc970k-2
  11. That is a really old model. Unless you got it for practically free, I would send it back and look for a deal at any number of distributors on the dw304pk over the next month.
  12. Huh, interesting. It may be a geographical/technology difference. Mine works fine, but it's a different country, model, and technology being used. I couldn't really speak to yours, as I do not really know anything about radios outside the US. Sorry you are having issues, and I hope that they get resolved!
  13. This model is the 20v MAX equivalent of the DC970K-2 that has been promo'd in the past. It is primarily a Black Friday play.
  14. Which radio did you get? I have both the DCR015 and 018, and both get really good reception - even better than my truck.
  15. There is no significant discharge protection built into the 20v max batteries, it is in the tool. The DeWALT 18v lithium batteries (DC9180) have all electronic controls built into the stem of the battery. I would recommend using that battery if you are wanting it "self contained" (for lack of a better word).
  16. No, the protection is built into the tool.
  17. All makers batteries are sensitive to water. That being said, do you have another battery to plug into the charger to be sure it works? How old is the battery? If it is within the warranty period, it would be worth a shot to try exchanging it, though water exposure does void warranty per the owners manual. Worth a shot anyway though.
  18. I can't speak to converting he Milwaukee jacket to use the DeWALT batteries (though I wouldn't suggest doing it), I have been had my DeWALT heated jacket for a couple of weeks now, and I really like it. The fit is really nice, it is thicker than I expected it to be, and on a cold morning, feeling all the heating zones kick on feels great! I recommend just ordering the DeWALT in your regular jacket size. I am sure you will be more than satisfied with it, and worse case you have the 90 day return policy.
  19. The grease gun will be a HUGE seller in the farm belt. Likely larger seller than the nailers believe it or not.
  20. Not that this is a real solution to it not being in 12v MAX, but the charger that comes with the 20v tools will also charge the 12v, which helps a bit. I wouldn't hold my breath for a 12v version though. Enjoy retirement! I'm looking forward (pretty far down the road) to my days of tinkering and hobbies that I can't fit into my work schedule now!
  21. Gotcha. This would be worth trying then, while you work through your old blades. Good luck!
  22. by looking at just pictures it looks like you could use tin snips (cut the slot) and a hammer (straighten the cut) on some other blades brands to make it work. Not that you will be swayed by what some guy on the internet (me) that you don't know says, but you will definitely want to try the fine blades vs. the DeWALT before you go through the effort of making a vein blade fit. The DeWALTs are AT LEAST as good as the Fein, and honestly are likely better, and a significantly lower cost. So while you may be able to make a fine blade work, I would ask why you would want to. Just my two cents.
  23. I press the 12v MAX battery on it until it snaps/locks on, never had an issue. My iPhone 4S seems to charge at the same rate if its off a Dewalt battery or plugged into computer/wall. The only issue i have with it is the battery monitor and having to remove/replace the battery like you said. The place to buy that i mentioned before seems to be at full retail, since then i have seen it elsewhere cheaper. What generation of batteries do you have? All of my batteries have the state of charge indicator built in, so the gauge on the adapter isn't really necessary. Glad you are having good results!
