  1. well, reading through shippers' requirements, i think the main thing is that the batteries are not loose, so that they dont short out. there is a company here in the US that modifies these packs to 5.0ah for the militray, but they dont come cheap. but i may go that route if i cant get these 4.0ah batteries. having the fuel gauge would be nice.
  2. yellow, have you bought these batteries? have 36v tools? did you notice a difference versus the standard battery?
  3. thanks yellow, i didnt see these. i contacted some sellers in the UK, and they wouldnt ship. but i'll ask the one linked, if they ship.
  4. an article with more info. http://www.farmshow.com/a_article.php?aid=26032 this saw is not that bad of an idea in my opinion. its a dewalt saw combined with a stihl engine.
  5. its definetly a cool idea. would be ideal for framing, since many of those jobs dont have power onsite. but with the cordless saws available today, it'd be a tough sell.
  6. the guy is probably trying to push real hard, cause his patent is expiring soon.
  7. anyone know where we can buy the 4.0ah battery? i tried a few places in europe, but they say they cant ship them overseas, due to battery restrictions on planes.
  8. but will it have any bass this time??
  9. hopefully it will actually have some bass.
  10. i havent used mine in a while, and when i went to use some of the 36 volt tools, they acted funny with the newer cells. like low on power. not happy with them either.
  11. dumb move, unless they are coming out with a new model.
  12. the market seems saturated already. may be tough to compete.
  13. sounds like a good idea. i'll see what i can come up with.
  14. ok, so i had bought a few 36 volt batteries recently, and all were made in 2010. and what do you know, two of them have the samsung cells. when i had bought these, i had marked one of those two, since i thought it didnt have as much power as i thought it should. i then figured i'd see how the new batteries performed after a few charge cycles. well now i know why i thought that battery was weaker. it seems dewalt changed cells somewhere between the 22nd and 30th week of 2010. you can also see that the top number format is now different on the batteries with the samsung cells. i really want to hear what dewalt has to say about this.
  15. i really want to hear about this. i was throwing the idea around of converting one of these vacs to a 36v battery use.
  16. wow, that sucks. i took pride in my tools knowing they were using the best battery technology available. and now to secretly switch cells to a lower quality is bullsh*t. maybe dewalt wants users to be buying new batteries every year or two like the old crappy 18v nicads.
  17. well here's one i found with a quick search: http://18vled.auctivacommerce.com/New-LED-Bulb-Module-fits-Ryobi-p703-Dewalt-18V-Volt-DW908-Cordless-P1008029.aspx but for the price, its not worth it.
  18. is that a removeable chuck i see for the hammer drill? and what diamond tools does dewalt offer over there?

i sometimes use the output port of the 18v vacuum. not real strong, but how much more do you expect out of a battery.
