  1. Recently the small black "tilt release" button on the back side of this saw fell off. This Black button controls the tilt of the saw to the right and has to be released in order to tilt the saw to the right. When you release the pressure on the tightening handle on the rear of the saw the saw will tilt to the left but the release rod needs to be pulled backward in order to release the tilt to the right. The result was the small rod which is controlled by the black tilt release button retracted into the housing due to the fact the rod has an indentation on it that fits into the bottom of the release panel and when the panel (button) fell off that rod retracted. Thus no right tilt is able. After calling DeWalt no one there was able to tell me how to get the rod out of the housing and reposition it on the release button. Neither could the "authorized repair shop" although the did say if I would bring it in they could repair it.$$$ The solution was finally discovered when I drilled a small hole in the end of the retracted rod-screwed a small diameter screw into the rod-pulled the rod out -reattached the release button and all is well now. Simple solution to a vexing problem.
