Brought the saw into the Service Center. The technician spent 30 minuets trying to remove blade, did all the thing we did on Friday including taking the screws out to all the Dust Duct to move it around. Finally grabbed the blade a pulled hard to using the blade to force the Dust Duct to give enough to allow the blade to come off, left a little blood on floor also. Installing a new is a little easier but still a hassle. This really is a bad design and dangerous also. Thank god I won't be changing blades that often. My advice wear gloves a use some kind of prying instrument behind blade or grind the lip off the top edge of Dust Duct which may help a little. The is great other wise. I am sure in construction that Dust Duct is take off and tossed.

I agree, something is different and I can't find out wha it is. I am going to take it out to the local Dewalt factory repair station an see wjat they say. I wonder is someone put the wrong Dust Chute/Spout on it, That to me is the only reason I can see that is stoping the blade from coming off. The is a protrusion that comes out of the side of the chute and that is what the blade hits. could be one for a different say the put in the wrong parts. Will let you know what I find out. I have 708 pounds of Laminate flooring sitting in my Garage that needs to get installed next week other wise my wife will be upset. $450+ and I can't use not a good excuse. I may go by Lowes or Home Depot and look at their display saw and see what they have. Thanks for you help. Guess I will watch football this weekend, ah gee. Saturdaqy Went by Lowes and looked at a Dw717 Type 1 the dust chute looks the same but does not have the molded lip at the top of the opening. The Type 2 is molded with a lkip that bends toward the blade on both sides, The 2 halves of the chute are mirror image of each other. Will take it in on Monday.

The blade will not go far enough left to come of the spindle. The Dust chute is preventing it from moving. I have watched the video and loosened the screws it just will not move far enough to come off the spindle. If I can't change the blade by Monday it is going back.

I can get the spindle bolt and washer off like the instructions say but can't get the blade off the spindle because of the blade hitting dust chute, the is a protrusion extends out from the side of chute that prevents the blade coming off the spindle. We tried to remove the dust spout/chute but could not remove. This is a type 2 DW 717 and might be a newer model. Kind of frustrating

Received a DW 717 type 2 miter saw for Christmas. This morning I tried to remove blade to install an upgrade blade. Followed instruction and even called Dewalt. I cannot get the blade off the spindle the dust collector chute is in the way and won't allow the blade to be remove. I wonder if I am miss a step in the instructions or what. They got the blade installed when assembling the saw. Had my Brother in Law a Dewalt miter saw owner and he couldn't figure it out either. Any help would be appreciated Tom.
