  1. I haven't yet bought a new chuck I wanted to see first if the old chuck is fixable. When it is reinstalled do i need to put lock tight or something like that to keep the chuck from unscrewing itself?
  2. I'm not sure that I am an expert on the topic but I just took the chuck out of my DCD950 it also does not have a screw holding the chuck. this is the video that I used to figure out how. My chuck wouldn't hold a bit so I had to use the channel locks. I opened the chuck all the way and then had to break loose the lock tight holding the chuck on with the channel locks. Hope this helps now I just need to find a replacement that doesn't cost an arm and a leg.
  3. I have an older dewalt. The drill chuck will not hold drill bits in the reverse. My hope is to fix the chuck I have if possible. It sounds normal closing the chuck but it won't lock and opening the chuck makes a grinding noise. I have been able to get the chuck off but I need the procedure for re-installing the chuck as it doesn't have a set screw on this version. any in site will be appreciated. Sorry if this has already been covered I searched but came up empty
