    Router

Router things haha jk. On a serous note I am looking to begin building some furniture over time such as bookcase, dog food holder, coffee table (all for personal use). It will also be used for routering door hinges and whatever other things a router comes in handy for. I recently built some oak speaker stands for my home theatre system and used an old cheap craftsman which worked but is on its last leg and I am looking to upgrade. It won't be used in a professional shop but I want something that is quality, will last, and won't have me wishing I spent $20 more for something nicer.

    Router

Thanks for the reply I will definitely look into those. I had been looking at the bosch 1617EVSPK because its the only router I have found many reviews on. The price recently went up $40 on it (maybe it was on sale) and I hate to spend more than what I could have gotten it for. Any features you like on those routers you posted more than the other?

    Router

Hey guys I am looking for some recommendations on purchasing a new router...
  5. Hey guys I've watched just about every TIA video they have on youtube and figured while I was waiting on the next video it was time time to introduce myself. My name is Dan and I'm 28 y/o from the Richmond Virginia. I work full-time for Henrico Fire as a fireman/paramedic and do part time work with some of the guys from the station flipping houses. I spend a lot of my spare time hunting/fishing and am just starting to get into woodworking which I am really enjoying. Thanks for all the great information you guys post.
  6. I have the Ridgid R26011 and have no complaints. Ive used the Dewalt D26451K quite a bit as well but bought the Ridgid simply because it felt more comfortable in my hand. For the few extra dollars I would definitely buy a model with variable speed. As others have said it works well for sanding different materials but also simply for control of the sander. Sometimes your want to just go to town and rip down quite a bit while other times more finesse is needed and this keeps the sander from jumping around.
  7. I have the brushless impact, brushless compact drill, and brushless premium hammer drill and don't have a bad thing to say about them. I went to the store wanting the milwaukee fuel line but the dewalt grip just felt so much better in the hand. I figured there so close in performance I might as well go with the one thats going to feel the best.

    Table Saw

Thanks for the replies so far guys. Keep any advise, comments, recommendations or comparisons coming. I have used my buddies ridgid table saw quite a bit and its actually pretty nice. Its way nicer than the old compact dewalt saws I have used a ton in the past. I think the dewalt rack and pinion fence system on the newer saws is a nicer design than the ridgid as its going to keep it square but I don't have any actually experience with it.

    Table Saw

I'm looking into purchasing a new table saw and am looking for some recommendations. It will be used for generalized ripping (plywood, 1x, 2x, etc). I am also starting to get into making some furniture and things (nothing too extensive). Two that I have been looking into are the Dewalt DWE7491rs and the Bosch 4100-09. I know these can handle the general ripping but advise as to whether or not this style saw will be up to basic furniture making would be appreciated. A cabinet saw is out of the question at this time.
