  1. Welcome!! Nice to see another carpenter here! Cheers
  2. You can hand nail reasonably quick. No where near the speed of a gun, but you can still be efficient. Cheers
  3. I like the blade on the left side. The 7-1/4" is on the right/incorrect side
  4. true but the blades on the wrong side for me, so the 6-1/2" will be the one blade price isn't a factor for me either. if the blade was on the left side on the 7-1/4 id maybe consider it but I will not buy that saw for the reason that the blades the wrong way. I'm leaning toward the fuel.. I already have a 4 piece kit, 3 3.0ah batteries, and a 1.5ah for my flash light. I have a couple other compacts but those stay with another cheaper m18 drill driver kit for home projects.
  5. I am a carpenter apprentice. while this wont be used all day everyday, it wont be spending all of its time sitting on a shelf waiting to be used by a weekend warrior a couple times in the summer either.
  6. the blade is on the wrong side for me. It must be on the left hand side, which is too bad because the 7-1/4" would be a great tool to have
  7. Hey Gang, I am planning on buying a cordless circ saw for my kit and am debating between the 6-1/2" fuel saw, and the standard Milwaukee brushed circular saw. aside from the increased performance from the fuel, the rafter hook is quite appealing.. I'm not sure if that's going to be overkill for my needs, plus here in Canada I believe the price difference is about 100 bucks, and well for that much I could go buy myself another tool for those of you who have each of these saws what are your thoughts? do you regret your purchase and wish you went the other way? Mike
  8. You can efficiently and safely use your credit card for purchases. I don't buy something unless I have the money. frequent purchases like gas, and groceries have the highest return for points. I typically use my credit card for gas, and pay it off the next day. No worries of the interest rate as long as you paying off on time, or in my case right away. Now, I don't personally enjoy using my credit card.. but I am young and establishing my own credit rating so when it comes time to take out a loan for a newer vehicle, or buying a house I have an established, and excellent credit rating.
  9. The estwing is an excellent hammer for sure. welcome to the forum Gordon
  10. Beautiful work. I'd love to have some of these jobs at work!
  11. I currently have an estwing, but I like the hatchet style handle, and my hammer is a singer which Is really annoying to use. I realize that the high velocity thing is just a marketing ploy. force=mass x acceleration. the lighter mass allows for your higher velocity. I would have to get a smooth face as I don't just frame so the waffle face wouldn't be advantageous for me
  12. Does anyone have a dewalt high velocity hammer?? I've been wanting to buy one for ages but just have had a hard time justifying it.. Curious of everyone's thoughts on them and if you've had any experience with them.. They go on sale semi regularly around here so if I ever snag one It'll be on sale. Stilettos are just a little too pricey for me cheers
  13. Looks good! Where do you findthe plexiglass?
  14. I'm a little amazed he won a majority by as much as he did, having said that I'm looking forward to some change and since were stuck with him for a few years I certainly hope it is for the better.
  15. Kerdi board is a waterproof membrane while cement board is not

    Heated vest

Those are just as bad! I had a shell like that for rain/wind. Carrying a backpack on the way to school was terrible

    Heated vest

Being able to remove sleeves from a jacket to make it into a vest is a great idea, however the zippers in sleeves can be quite a nuisance. If you work in construction and find yourself carrying lumber (or anything) on your shoulder, the zippers dig into your shoulder so keep that in mind when deciding Cheers
  18. What tool store did you get It from, Toronto?
  19. Did anyone watch the stream on the new product symposium? Sadly I missed it! I saw the video ipon their new lights. They look pretty slick! Was there a nail gun of any kind? I'd love to see a list of the new tools they've come out with
  20. Doof, correct me if i am wrong but that's the brushed saw correct?
  21. I'm well aware it's a bare tool. I already have a few other Milwaukee tools including a 4 piece kit so the batteries isn't an issue. I think the bare tool would be the most economical way to go, I mean I could buy the circ saw kit for more money then I bought my 4 piece kit for. I'm not totally sure I could justify the fuel saw. I mean I'd love to get the 7 1/4 fuel, but the blade is on the wrong side..
  22. Nice job! demo is not fun at all in the old houses, but its gotta be done! I am doing a reno in a house of a similar vintage. lots of work, but so worth it. Keep it up!
  23. 6 1/2 fuel circ saw $229 http://www.homedepot.ca/product/m18-fuel-circ-saw-bare-tool/415139 The 7 1/4 would be nice, but I like the blade on the left side, and I believe it only comes on the right from what I have seen.
  24. I was at the depot today, and the fuel is 229, and the regular is 99. Where did you purchase yours, comp?
