  2. Comp, i agree with you on all accounts. Is it completly necessary for me?, No, but I do use it professionally to make money, I work hard for my money and i really enjoy nice tools.   ;D

Having the right tools and also tools that work flawlessly and that i can rely on really do make my job easier and more enjoyable.

  3. Chris, your going to love the squares. It's so nice using a tool that you can rely on being dead on accurate, the heft of them make them feel really nice in the hand and there is no denying the eye candy effect!! Can't forget that they are made in the good ole US of A!

Mr. Yellow, I do use mine on site but reserve them for finish work or when they are absolutely necessary to get the job done.. I tend to use a little more care while using them also but I'm a firm believer of using my tools. It's just the aluminum that might suffer some nicks or scratches. You would be hard pressed to bend or knock their stuff out of square.

yellow.. not so sure if you will ever see that! I have seen one of their old squares anodized gold

  4. Yeah, $270 for the set.. a little pricy but it's hard to deny how sweet they are!! If you call woodpecker directly they should be able to tell you if there are any still avaliabe.. they are made to order but typically they make a few extra to account for people who were late to order.

the angle plate and large one are much bigger than I thought but that's a good thing. I'll post some specs on them.

Also the stainless blade is very thick and the sandblasted finish on the blade is sweetttt

  5. Just came in the mail today, I ordered it months ago, back in July I think, through Tool Nut when it was avaliable as a one time tool

I am a little addicted to woodpeckers stuff and have a fair amount however this got really excited! It's just beautiful, fit and finish is amazing and they are very robust.

  6. thanks for the pamphlet Korno

a little while back i actually got to drive a few screws with it when my local makita rep was around. very little time using it but it is a really nice screwdriver, i love the feature where you can have it only turn on when you depress the tip so it cuts down on noise and battery consumption.

i really dont do much drywall but i have a garage ceiling spray foam insulation job coming up where i will have to tear down and replace the drywall..  i was thinking of doing that job myself to justify buying this gun!  haha

thought it would be cool to see a pros opinion of the gun and see it in real action

  7. I know what you are saying but I doubt anyone will fork out 1600 bucks for a employee who was unlucky. I did file a police report when I got home from the job though. And checked all the pawn shops nearby and let them know about it. I just feel like I'll be labeled a snitch or something if I try and Sue a coworker for loosing my tools. Nobody admits to being the ones who actually loaded them in the truck.

You might be surprised man, to them 1600 is probably a tiny blip.. also it was on their truck, on their time. And ultimately, if they are decent people and value their employees they will most likely want to help you.. you have to know that you are worth money to them, they most likely had to train you and I'm sure you do good work for them so they will want you to be around for a while.

It doesn't hurt to ask, maybe they are only willing to give you some of the tools and maybe none at all but at that point you can try negotiating your vacation time.

I definitely agree with you, no switching on other employees and 100% don't try to sue anyone over it..

you can tell your boss that you weren't the one who put them in the truck and that you are unsure of who it was but I would go on to say that your not looking for anyone else to take the blame of improperly loading your tools because you realize that you should have been responsible for securing your own tools on the truck.

Good luck man, know your worth and be confident!

  8. Sorry to hear about you getting your tools stolen, some people are such dirt bags..

I own Makita 18v and Milwaukee 12v and love both of them but nowadays you really can't go wrong with tools from any of the big brands.

I would say jump to the 20v-max line if staying with Dewalt
