Put the new grinder to work last night for the first time.. cutting steel supports for under some counter tops at a school I do occasional work at.
It was dark, no outside power that I knew of and definitely no cutting inside, perfect job for a cordless! To top it off there was a nice light rain (put the XPT to use)
Both ends of 2 pieces of 2"x1"x1/8" chanel had to be squared and notched to fit existing legs and braces. Also bevel all cuts with a grinding wheel.
The grinder never struggled and one 3ah battery was plenty

Listen to Chris, he's the law! I really do agree with him, File the report, it might not help but it definitely won't hurt..
It's gotta be very frustrating that a coworker/coworkers were responsible in some way.. the guy driving shouldn't have been being such a wild man and the one who put your tools away should have had a little more respect for your property.. I agree you can sue him or steal his tools, haha, even though you might want to!! Doesn't make it right.. has he said anything to you?
Do whatever feels comfortable to you but you may not want to offer your vacation time up to your boss right off the bat. Hang onto that card as a negotiating tactic.. You were in a company truck, on company time and you really weren't 100% responsible.. if he is a decent guy and or values you as an employee he might just come out and offer you assistance with no strings attached.. you gotta remember that you make him money!

Man.. that really blows.
Does the company you work for offer any sort of protection or assistance for things like this? We're you on company time?? Even if you weren't, you may consider going to the boss, explaining the situation and how it will affect your ability to get their jobs done.. they may help you get back on your feet.. it would be beneficial to both of you.
Did you file a police report, pawn shops is a good idea of places to look.. may help you recover them if you have a police report in place and pictures of your tools.

I was going to try to order and see if they would ship to the US but didn't get in front of a computer, phone wasn't working with the site good
I already own the saw and it's incredible.. I would bet it's the best corded reciprocating saw on the market... I was gonna buy a few more for the guy that works for me and my dad. Maybe even a second for me that was a too good to be true price

Where is that??

Thank you all for your advice and help, here's an update:
I emailed snap-on, they immediately said they would send out a repair kit. Then I responded asking about the spp744, that's when things got annoying... a different rep responded to my reply and didn't understand why I wanted the spp744, so I explained, then a 3rd rep responded to my explanation, she agreed to send me the spp744, then I thanked her, then a 4th rep responded to my thank you and said they wouldn't send the tool, haha, so I just left it at that, then a 5th rep email me saying things would be sent to me, not clear what.. why couldn't I just communicate to one person?? Makes it frustrating to try to explain your situation to 5 different people
I got the parts in the mail a few days later but no spp744.. it didn't actually matter, they improved the spring/ball design, it's much more user friendly now. I still had to use something to depress it into the hole in the head but didn't heed the speciality tool.
Repair only took a few minutes.. first pic is the old parts, second is the new parts (the ball and spring are now more like one piece, it's not a ball anymore but a weird cylinder shape with a rounded top and bottom peg that fits into the spring) third pic is the part number and what it fits in case anyone else needs one. -
Great looking shower! i like the linear drain, i have yet to do one of those.. that doesn't look like a Schluter, who makes it? is it set in a pre sloped foam tray like the Noble or Schluter, or in a mud bed? how was it to install?

Both depot and Lowe's have black Friday deals on hole saw kits.. Milwaukee at home Depot and Lenox at Lowe's if I'm not mistaken.. that would give you a nice assortment of sizes and be good for a mix of materials
if you do a lot of thin metal you might want to consider some of the Milwaukee sheet metal specific hole saws with the plug ejector spring. I think other brands also have similar ones but not sure who

Is that an 18v?

Nice score man!! Love it when things like that happen

Great video!! LOL
Happy thanksgiving everyone!

meh, disappointing day so far, no food, no good tool deals, just work. then again i didnt want to put pants on this morning.
You could have probably solved the work problem if you never put your pants on!!

what is the exact purpose of this?
It's for when you have an extra semi truck lying around that you want to destroy!! And obviously more cash than you know what to do with.

The 22' multi ladders are great, I have 2 of the 22' and one of the 13' use them all the time. Mine have stood up to at least 5 years of hard on the job use.
They are so versatile and the most sturdy a-frame/step ladder you will use. Definitely worth the buy.. 125 is a good price
they are a little on the heavy side but it doesn't bother me.

Stick with the makita. It won't disappoint and it allows him a huge cordless platform to expand into if he ever wants more than just the drill.

Here it is, http://toolguyd.com/home-depot-black-friday-2014-tool-deals/
Really nothing to get excited about! It really doesn't look like anything different than regular sales actually

Posted this in another spot too but thought I'd post it here too
I did a super quick, by no means detailed or accurate test but the results are very clear.
My old Makita BGA452 vs my new XAG03
2 fresh off the charger batteries
2 minutes on the clock
1 3/8 galvanized pipe about 3/32 wall thickness
the BGA452 made 5 cuts (I tried to push it as hard as I could without stalling, did stall once) 2/3 bars of battery remaining after the 2 minutes
the XAG03 made 8 cuts and never even came close to stalling 3/3 bars of battery remaining after the 2 minutes
60% faster!!
Again this was a very crude test but I was stoked by the results and thought I'd share

I'm gonna have to vote staggered.. regular old straight 90* always looks good too but that's not an option
Diagonal tends to be a bit harder to layout and install so be mindful of that
One last bit of advice... happy wife, happy life! Gotta pick your battles!
