  1. I think Festool is going to release the edgebander, some corded drills and the cordless track saw in the US. Possibly a table saw for the US market but that's a big maybe..

Sawstop will finally launch their portable job site table saw

I'll guess that another company develops a similar skin sensing technology also (possibly festool)

Makita will release a BL reciprocating saw in the US along with their BL jigsaw and 18v X2 string trimmer. All their current X2 tools will be slightly redesigned to do away with the need for an adapter.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say 6ah won't be widespread.. we saw a big push to 5ah lately and I'm guessing manufacturers will ride that out for a while.

Milwaukee will continue to fuelerize their line M12 and M18, I hope atleast for new M12 multitool and right angle drill/driver

Maybe Milwaukee cordless nail guns? At least more manufacturers will introduce or expand their nail gun lines..

  2. My wife and kids are fully supportive to my tool addiction, in fact they are indirectly enablers.......buying me tools for birthdays and such.....my wife shocked me 1 time in home depot, I was looking at a M18 circular saw that was on sale........as I was holding the demo tool looking at it my wife says to the fellow helping me is it the fuel version? he says no not this one and we don't have any in stock......my wife says well there is no sense buying this one, wait for the fuel version to come in .........

and here I didn't think she listened to my mumbling about tools as I often do.....

Whatever you do, dont let that one get away!!!    she is a keeper!! :)

  3. I'm there too man. I have a lot of stuff that goes beyond what I really "need", but I wanted it.

I keep telling myself that at some point I'll have everything I could realistically ever use, but I don't know who I think I'm kidding. I'll be buying tools until I die.

Haha, I can't help but perfectly relate to this!! Your need/want rings very true with me also, but you second comment is so 100% right on!!

I don't know how many times I've told myself or my wife that if I just get this or that new tool I will be all set. Haha. That is NEVER the case :)

    Ahh... I love buying tools :) :) :)

  4. Comp, I'm right there with you buddy! I assume many of us are!!

I too have always loves tools and just making something with my hands. From being Lego obsessed as a young kid to now owning a remodeling company.

When other kids on Christmas were getting new bikes or the latest game console, I was literally getting mechanic's tool chests, air compressors, angle grinders, and torque wrenches ( back in my high school days I was most into mechanics tools, welders, etc.now I'm much more construction/woodworking focused)

There is something very satisfying about having not only the right tool for the job, or a tool for any job, but also the knowledge and ability to use them!!

  5. Chris, you really gotta do your best to get there this year. It's a great time! Both the festooned connect and the JLC show.

Regopit, we gotta make sure we meet up this year! I hear connect is not gonna be in the same room anymore, maybe not even the same building! I think they over grew that room!!

  6. i also end up with store credit at HD, when i purchased something with my HD Credit Card, paid it within 1 month or tho and after that i decide to bring back the tool/ merchandise. when you bring it back with the receipt they will refund the money to the credit card. but that doesn't make sense to me, because the bill is already paid off....so that's why i bring it back without receipt and just get store credit

Make sure you are getting your tax back. I'm pretty sure in CT, if you dont have a receipt or a way for them to find it like on a credit card, you do that get the tax back... you can probably give them the receipt and tell them you want store credit instead of money back to your credit card

  7. Sounds like a plan, all the impacts I've used were always one speed, gotta try the 3 speed option, I'm definitely getting the rotary hammer, maybe get the circular saw in the future, my current lxt 6 1/2 saw gets me by, but interested in the brushless one when its released.

    Smart man!

  8. I've only had one guy ask me, it was right in the checkout lane and he offered a similar situation to yours.. I don't think the discount was so good..

I declined just out of skepticism

After, when I was checking out, the woman at the register told me that these guys steal stuff, return it for store credit and then sell the card for cash... I'm sure that is not always the case.

that's a little sketchy in my book. I don't really want to endorse this guy's theft habits and or whatever other habits he needs the cash for!!

  9. nice review, I am considering makita when i jump into a line of tools.

Jonesna8, I have owned makita lxt 18v tools for the last 7 or so years, I use them professionally every day and don't baby them yet all of my original tools are still working. The quality it top notch.

over the years my collection has grown to over 20 tools and lights/radios and now 15 batteries. I have also never experienced any issues with the batteries (never lost one before many years of hard use which can be expected)

Ironically, 6 months ago I may not have recommended Makita due only to the fact that they really weren't releasing new tools to update some of their aging models.. That has all changed now.

Makita is back at it, completely revamping a solid chunk of their line and dominating!!

If and when you pull the trigger on cordless tools, you won't be disappointed with Makita!!

  10. Hey Chris, not trying get to talk you out of anything but this really is a sweet little multi tool.. I have 2 fein 250's and ever since I got this I use it 95% of the time.. it's nice not having to deal with a cord and usually multi tools are only for quick cuts...

if your planning to remove all the grout from a bathroom then forget it, go corded..

also I'm not sure if you have other tools in the m12 line but it's a sweet line.. you might want to think twice before leaving it...

Ps.. I don't think you included a price I your first post, not sure if that was intentional or not
