  1. Amazon marketplace knockoff.
  2. Same here; lots of city driving where a slightly shorter and narrower wheelbase would be ideal. Ford doesn’t want to give me what I want yet though and I don’t want that V6 the Colorado has. My dollars will be waiting until either company changes things up to my liking lol.

    Makita 18v Jig Saw

I have to agree with @ChrisK, load sensing on the brushless barrel grip is a complaint I have. I’ll be supplementing it with whatever turns out better between a brushless red or yellow alternative.
  4. @ChrisKThe 12.0 uses 21700 cells, the 9.0 uses 18650, the 12.0 will be far more efficient, much more than the 33% you would expect going from the numbers. The Milwaukee chainsaw seems to check all the boxes from a marketing standpoint. I love that it has spikes, and proper studs for the bar (unlike the FlexVolt). I can’t wait to see it in the hands of everyday people for honest feedback. @BMack37 the 12.0 will be 216 watt hours, and the cells stay cooler; they have crazy discharge rates for power output when necessary and better thermal management. @OldDominionDIYer I think the 12.0 will really wake up your circ saw and OPE; I expect you’ll have a tougher time stalling your circ saw, etc.
  5. That’s my dilemma now lol; my extended cab will do 8’ sheet goods in the box with tailgate down no problem. A Ranger or Colorado would be a nicer city truck but I’d need to use some dunnage in the box to haul sheets and would still overhang. Colorado not as much, the Ranger would be fairly atrocious lol.
  6. From the looks of things you’ll be able to get two (2, yes, 2) rips out of it before your 5.0 overheats. It’s not like that many people enjoy using Fuel nail guns in the first place. They also had to wait another 1-2 years lagging behind with 18650 to make that jump, and they don’t seem poised to hold the battery crown for long. My opinion is still that Makita has the most customer friendly platform; all the same batteries, and the fastest charging, the big toys just need two batteries instead of one. 45 minutes for 5.0 and you’re off again. Meanwhile it takes a Dewalt 9.0 an hour and a half to charge, maybe more), and the Milwaukee 12.0 more than two hours on the rapid charger (until the rapider charger comes out half a year from now).
  7. Agreed. And one company owned it, and one company hasn’t really. Makita’s solution is easily the most elegant; the most cells, plenty of power, and the fastest charge times. Milwaukee’s marketing is dedicated to 18v despite better options available.
  8. I found a deal on the FlexVolt chainsaw but couldn’t pull the trigger, it just seems like sort of a dud. The Milwaukee looks really nice. Milwaukee definitely has a few turds they polished and slapped “Fuel” on and sent to market, but their impacts, the Surge, etc. definitely aren’t in that group lol. Their new table saw looks like an upgrade to the FlexVolt, it’s just unfortunate they’re two years too late to get my money for a table saw lol.
  9. We think a lot alike @ChrisK, for carpenter tools yellow is damn good. Their midtorque is tempting but I’m trying to Lee my garage tools red and the Fuel mid torque is awesome. The 3 speed 996 is my favourite drill; torque for every application. I’m trying to stay away from M18 12.0 but if I do my only recip will be an M18 Fuel Hackzall lol. Mitre saws though...yellow all day. The red 7.25 looks like a beauty but I’ll wait for a brushless 20v Max version instead.
  10. Lol yeah the new bronco I think is an updated version of the T6 global Ranger chassis, while the NA Ranger uses the existing T6 platform. Don’t quote me but I’m pretty sure that’s the case. I’m hoping the Ranger will get the 2.7 as an option down the road, and a second wheelbase. The Super crew/short bed combo with a 2.3 doesn’t quite check the boxes for me, but I do like the look of the truck.
  11. That sounds pretty nice! I’m hoping Ranger has class leading payload; if it does it will haul as much as my Silverado does in the box in a slightly shorter, slightly narrower truck that’s hopefully significantly better on gas lol. I like the new half tons but they are just getting too big for my purposes. The new Silverado is 4” longer.
  12. So you really are just trolling. Good to know. Would you like me to open a 230 and take a picture for you? You still haven’t explained what happens with tools like drill drivers, impact wrenches, etc. in this supposed phasing out from 20v Max to FlexVolt.
  13. The new Ram had a friend of mine who isn’t a huge truck guy ask “what the hell sort of design Ram was going for with that front end” lol. Tundra is a great option for Made in America fans, but it and the Tacoma are I need of a refresh imo. My neighbour has a fairly new Tacoma and it can haul about 2/3rds of what a Colorado/Canyon can. Some beef on the suspension would do it some good.
  14. Do M18 batteries work in V18 tools? Do M18 CP 1.5/2.0 or XC 3.0/4.0/5.0/6.0 really work in the new high output M18 tools? Every high output tool Milwaukee will make will run like crap on the 18650 batteries. Most 20v Max tools don’t require 15 cells worth of “high output energy”. Just like only the 5ish new tools Milwaukee announced really need the High Output 12.0 Oh, and Dewalt is using 21700 in the 20v Max XR 3.0 compact batteries that I own. I can’t tell if you’re arguing in bad faith or just ignorant of the facts at this point. The future of a FlexVolt OMT, jigsaw, drywall screwgun, impact driver, etc. will be an interesting one. Unless you’re saying those won’t be replaced because they aren’t high energy output...but you wouldn’t just move goalposts like that, would you?
  15. 54v. Are you trying to deceive people?! Also, haven’t you heard? 18650 is the past. That’s why all M12 batteries have them (and are restricted to that size thanks to stempacks), and all the impact wrenches, drills and impact driver kits announced at NPS18 come bundled with XC5.0 batteries powered by old school 18650 cells. You know, because M18 is dying. It is.
  16. How do you feel about the new “not necessary but basically necessary” High Output batteries that the new tools require if you want to make more than 2 rips without overheating them?
  17. Interesting theory; but FlexVolt is already backwards compatible and wakes up plenty of 20v Max tools. But why would I want FlexVolt packs hanging off my drill anyway? 20v Max is alive and well as M18 and Makita LXT are, and far more alive and well than any other company’s offerings beyond red and teal. You're right about one thing though; 18650 cells aren’t sticking around. That’s why all of my 20v Max batteries already have 20700/21700 cells in them.
  18. The Ranger will likely be my next truck but not until Ford offers it in a “crew” (the interior of which is maybe the size of extended cab Silverado) with a 6’ bed instead of 5’. I’ve seen a few of the new Rams in the wild...they’ll need a few years to grow on me, especially after a decade of the only nice body style Ram has ever made. The new Chevy is the nicest they’ve made since the 88-99 style that is such a classic. It looks like a Tundra got knocked up by an F150, but the kid turned out alright lol. The new Sierra, on the other hand, looks like a rolling disaster and that new tailgate is about the stupidest contraption I’ve seen on a truck, and that’s coming from a guy with a V8 that shuts off cylinders and drinks oil lol. Ideally though my Silverado will last until the Ranger gets a midcycle enhancement or a new F-150 comes out.
  19. That’s awesome conductor. I have fond memories of my grandma making many crafts with her scroll saw. I’ve eyed this Dewalt up a few times. Your anecdote makes me want it more lol, maybe it would get my nose out of some books and eyes off the PlayStation as well!
  20. The price of it, here at least, is ridiculous. I bought my barrel grip brushless Makita for the same price. It’s an antique. It should be priced like an antique. I’ll be happy to buy a brushless tool that I feel justifies the price, so I’ll eventually have a pair of XR jigsaws and probably sell the Makita.
  21. Well, I won’t comment on your worldview but I would say that your “why not” attempts to spread a fair amount of FUD: why would you assume 20v Max is approaching the end of its lifecycle? FlexVolt isn’t a replacement anymore than M18 High Output is a replacement for all previous M18 batteries. 20v Max isn’t getting the V18 treatment when it and its main two competitors all have well over 100 tools in the system.
  22. Really? You haven’t walked into a Home Depot and seen a wall of Milwaukee products that claim “50x life” “3x cuts” “4x blade life” etc. etc. etc. or all the comparisons on Milwaukee boxes comparing their tools to “competitors” where the comparison is made to old outdated brushed tools and not the top of the line teal or yellow equivalents? Or Milwaukee’s power numbers; ie isn’t the premium Makita drill stronger than the 2704 despite having around 10 ft lbs less torque? Compared to the competition Milwaukee is a marketing company that makes tools. I say that as someone who owns and uses a ton of Fuel gear. The extent of Dewalt’s lying is basically maximum voltage vs nominal voltage, and if 20 being a bigger number than 18 was enough to fool you, or 60 over 54 then it would behoove you to read the disclaimer on the box next to the asterisk.
  23. Thanks! We’ll see if OSHA can’t squash any hopes of a 10” table saw yet lol.
  24. Just read on IG that multivolt will be getting a 10” table saw and an AC adapter for all multivolt tools. If that’s true that makes me absolutely furious with Dewalt.
  25. Not a bad choice. It’s what my FlexVolt sits on but I’d be tempted to get a 723 if I had to do it all over again. It was free with my FlexVolt saw though so I can’t complain too much.
