  1. Ha! Jimbo is starting to come to the red side.
  2. That is because red make them stronger. Plus red adds another use, Stick it into the ground and becomes a high visibility marker. That still only makes it 4-in-1 as far as I can see.

    M12 ratchets

Could that because the 1/4 head has slightly less mass than the 3/8? Otherwise the rest is the same.
  4. Don't knock all Craftsman ratchets. I have some "Made in USA" Craftsman V series fine tooth ratchets 1/2, 3/8 & 1/4 that I have used for over 40 years and even though I have other ratchets (including Proto) I usually grab these Craftsman V's. They are old friends that have excelled for years. Easy, smooth movement. Did I mention they are fine tooth? When other ratchets have failed due to not enough handle space to engage a new tooth or the bolt is too loose to allow another ratchet to catch. I get my trusty Craftsman V and nine times out of ten it takes over just fine. If the Craftsman V fails me (only twice that I can remember) I have a friction ratchet that has saved the day, but it is not as easy to use as other ratchets. You have to switch the socket from each side of the head to change direction.

    M12 ratchets

I would guess that both the 3/8 & 1/4 are the exactly the same except for the drive. Glasseyi probably just has a 1/4 that was assembled better than the 3/8. I would follow Jimbo's advice and get the 3/8 and use a reducer for 1/4 stuff. Myself I use the M12 3/8 all the time but when it comes to 1/4 stuff I usually just grab a regular 1/4 ratchet with a extension, loosen all with the ratchet real quick then spin the nuts/bolts off with the extension & socket like a screwdriver.

    Home Depot

I bought a Husky Silent Air Compressor for $99 last week maybe that triggered getting that coupon. I used the $10 coupon to buy another Husky Air Compressor for $89. I'm going to send the receipt in to see if I can get the 11% Menards matching rebate from HD. This is the first time I ever got a coupon from HD. I signed up to have receipts sent to my email about a year ago. I asked the HD cashier if she has seen the coupon before and she said "yeah we get quite a lot of them".
  7. I wanted a California Air but they sold out quick. When I heard about these Husky versions for only $99 I rushed out and picked one up last week within a hour of hearing about it. I have been in three HD's since and each still have at least 2 Husky's a week later. Funny how a name can make such a difference.

Check your email. I just received a $10 off $100 coupon from HD.
  9. Just get a set of torque limiting extensions from HF. Less expensive than a new Milwaukee impact and faster than messing with your smartphone. http://www.harborfreight.com/10-piece-12-in-torque-limiting-extension-bar-set-69870.html

  11. No he is describing phones with dials. I used to install those. Phones with buttons (Touch Tone) was a big deal. I also converted 4 party line customers to 2 party lines.
  12. Wiha has a sale on a pack of 30 Phillips #2 insert bits going on. Just do a search "Wiha 72522"
  13. I agree. I want to go with Robertson drive screws but have a large stash of Phillips. When looking to start my Roberson stash I found almost all Phillips stuff. Had to search to find Robertson screws then when I did find them they where at least twice the cost. For now I have given up my quest for Robertson stuff as being impractical and focused on finding quality Phillips bits and screwdrivers.
  14. I have been impressed with the Kobalt's.
  15. I have a beeswax log that I have had for years that I have hardly used, maybe I'll try rubbing it on my tablesaw blade next time I cut some hardwood and see if it helps with the cut.
  16. WARNING: Do NOT watch this Or you will want more Wera stuff!
  17. Seems like a M12 1/4 impact with a drill bit and a screwdriver bit would be quicker and weight less. But what do I know. I only use the stuff and not a highly trustworthy sales spokesman.
  18. You will be happy with that 3/8 ratchet. I like that I can get the speed of a impact but still get the feel of hand tightening.
  19. My sister's girlfriend is very good at finding studs.
  20. Impressive! Amazing the power these battery powered impact wrenches have. I remember using my father's plug-in impact wrench years ago and not being very impressed. So I decided to go with air impacts. My 2763 has me neglecting those air impacts.
  21. The whole thing looks hokey. Like some of the gimmick Craftsman stuff I was dumb enough to buy.
  22. How does the 3-in-1 work? It looks like 1/4 & 1/2 drive. I don't see the 3/8. Do the smaller drives collapse to allow the 1/2 socket to fully attach?
  23. Just got a M18 Fuel set and was trying the drill out on a project. After drilling three or four holes I started using M12 drill for the rest of the job. Didn't realize I had begun to ignore M18 until I began putting the tools away after I had finished. I had pulled out the M12 because it already had a bit in it that I needed and forgot about the other drill after that. I just like how the M12 fits in my hand and I seem to have better control with it, probably because of it's light weight.
  24. Has anybody used Kobalt stuff?
  25. I want to see a picture of the batteries.
