  1. I wonder if the outdoor power equipment has anything to do with the deal?Because the only thing Craftsman when it comes to there outdoor power equipment is the decals. That stuff was all built by MTD,AYP,Murry, etc at one time a few years back Stanley had a lawn tractor with there name on it.But it was a Murry and that was after Murry pulled out of the USA and went to China.
  2. If I was going to use the HF generator to run tools all day example air compressor for air tools.I then would have went with the Honda. But for very light duty tasks I think I will be OK.Its all in how well you take care of it.If you never change the oil or keep fresh gas in it or let it sit out. They would both fail before there time. But I can see if its used for a business day in and day out.Yes the Honda would be the only way to go.It would be like me buying a Sears Craftman gas string trimmer rather then a Stihl pro series string trimmer or a MTD lawn and garden tractor rather then a John Deere X700 series lawn and garden tractor.
  3. Well it was not directed at you.Bremons comments were what rattled my cage. But I will say sorry to both you and Bremon.I am satisfied with my junk Harbor Freight Generator and feel I did get a bargain Stupid me.When ever I bring it out to use it I will be sure to put a bag over my head in shame.Just kidding
  4. Well for the most part I agree with you.I do have a Estwing hammer.I am a farmer and run a small lawn care business.I buy John Deere and Stihl products for my farm and business. In my opinion I am buying the best for my everyday work. But I use my generators very little. The reason I own two and I am considering the third is because I have my 5500 watt at my home place and it is for backup power when the power goes out.To run my sump pump and bed room window AC or Fridge or Freezer things like that. Its served me well for around 10 years now and still performs like new.The HF Predator I will be using it for things like running a shop vac to clean out my corn planter boxes to switch seed.I will carry it in my pickup truck.Or possibly to run electronics like a TV during a power outage.Very light use .The reason for considering the third generator. Is to have back up power at a different farm location where I do not have electricity at a out building.I could use something around 5500 watts at that location several miles away.Easier to have a second unit then to load haul and unload. I buy according to how often or bad I need something.I use my John Deere and Stihl products often.Power tools I own Milwaukee and Dewalt they get light use.I would not consider HF power tools.Hand tools I have older Craftsman, Channel Lock, and even some Harbor Freight.Never had a need for Snap On or Mac.I support buying USA products as often as I can.But thats getting harder and harder to do.I drive Domestic vehicals and that does not mean a Honda or Toyota just because there made here.I do not buy anything to keep up with my neighbors and I do not borrow anything.Because I hate it when someone borrows something from me.I do not buy anything to impress or keep up with anyone.I keep everything I own locked up out of sight as soon as I am done using it.Better chance no one will want to borrow it.
  5. Hmm I guess because someone can not always afford name brand products. It makes him stupid to buy what they can afford.I guess If you shop at HF your just trying to stock items that are decoys to make it look like your trying to keep up with the ''Snobs''.Some.people make me sick and your comments made me want to Puke all over the place.
  6. Why are you confused? The Honda is $500.00 or more money.I used the $500.00 I saved and got me the Milwaukee stand light and the Dewalt 20v Jigsaw I wanted and still have some of that $500.00
  7. I went with the Harbor Freight for $399.00 used the $500.00 I saved and purchased some Dewalt and Milwaukee power tools I have been wanting.
  8. I just bought the Harbor Freight in November. My brother has two of the Hondas and I have used one of his many times. He uses his at our family farm that has a cabin. We used the Hondas while building the family cabin and now use them as a power source for the cabin. I hate to borrow things and live 16 miles away from that farm. But really wanted to get one for my self. But already have a 5500 watt Sears Craftsman same as a Briggs from several years back. But wanted a quite more portable generator.Did not want to shell out nearly $1000.00 for a Honda. So when HF had theres on sale for $399.00 I thought why not. So far glad I did.It is quite handles everything my brothers Honda can.Starts on the first or second pull every time. Will is last as long as the Honda?Time will tell but I figure for what I paid if its life is only half of the Honda I will still be ahead of the game.I have other predator engines gas water pump and I put one on a garden tiller. They have been doing a excellent job for me so I have confidence in this generator also.So much so that I have been considering there 6500peak5500 watt model as well when it goes on a good sale.
  9. I stopped changing oil in my cars and truck years ago.By the time you drag out the jack and or ramps and take a chance on getting crushed to death.Get all dirty and oily and have to wash your clothes.Plus run around buying oil and filters. Its just not worth it.I stick to just two places to get my oil changed. #1 Choice is the local Cadillac GMC dealer I pay a little more but the mechanics change the oil and the shop is so clean you could eat off the floor and every 5th oil change is free so that helps keep the price reasonable. #2 Choice is the Chevrolet Buick dealership GM Goodwrench quick lube center. There cheaper and your in and out faster. You pull right in sort of like all the quicky places.I watch them like a hawk to make sure I see the filter change take place and that the drain plug in tightened but not by a 700 pound gorilla. I avoid the shade tree shops and the quick lube places that hire gear heads and kids .If there making near minimum wage they could careless about good service.
  10. My parents are still alive and well in there late 80,s.They recently purchased there own Head stone some call them tomb stones. It is nice but it set them back $7500.00.My Aunt recently died and prepaid her funeral a few months before passing. The casket alone was $8000.00 nothing fancy.
  11. I have a Yard Boss and I like it.I have both sets of tines. It comes with the pick tines. But in my heavy black soil I use the optional Bolo tines.I have the wheel kit and it makes it a lot handier when you need to stop to do something it keeps the hadle bars up off the ground.I use mine to culitvate between rows and also for raised beds and flower beds. But mostly to cultivate. I have several pieces of Stihl equipment.Pro model FS-80 trimmer, leaf blower,Chainsaw,Kombi system with a few attachments and the Yard Boss all have been trouble free and work as advertised.
  12. Yes went through Healthcare.gov.But no subsidy for me.
  13. I have had my Health insurance through my wifes employer for many years. But they did away with spouse insurance affective Feb 1 2016.I was on her group insurance. Was reasonable priced. Now being self employed I had to get my own and I am paying almost $700.00 per month! That has killed my tool buying fun.Anyone else in this boat?
  14. I have had mine over a year now.Use it often on the farm.Do not know how I managed without it.
  15. Gas price being low might sound great. But other market ran products are nose diving also.In the long run its a good thing gas is cheap.Because in time its going to affect more then people working in the oil industry. When things crash as they are now.We are headed for trouble.Take a look at your 401K for example. We are headed for problems I think.
  16. I fell for the 3/8 drive and found out a socket will not release just gets stuck.I ended up putting a 3/8 to 1/4 adapater on it.Not sure why?I guess to keep from tossing the POS in the trash can.Its a good idea but the head is a little to large for tight places.
  17. I hope this crap changes its pattern.Something is not right when you have 2 100 year floods in 6 months time.Maybe that 2012 end of the world talk is not so far fetched?Even if the prediction was off 100 years that would be damn close.
  18. Last night we watched National Lampoons Christmas vacation.Every year at this time we watch Christmas movies its a tradition. This one is on my top 5 favorites. That Uncle Eddy makes the movie.
  19. I have two different sets of batteries. The thin DCB207 1.3Ah made in Malaysia that fit loose. Then I bought a set of DCB200 3.0Ah Made in Japan the thicker battery packs and they fit tight.
  20. http://www.farmandfleet.com/products/842687-milwaukee-m18-fuel-1-2-high-torque-impact-wrench-with-friction-ring-kit.html This is a good deal I feel?Kits comes with 2 batteries and then you can get a third battery or a bare tool.
  21. I think there is something about coverage with Directv?I have the extended service with them also.It waves the service call fee and I think it does cover attached equipment? If you pay a higher level of service? But I am a new customer with them so would not want to trust it.I had a Desktop computer with coverage several years ago.Best Buy came right to the house and replaced components that were taken out from my phone line that took a hit in a storm.I remember it went very smooth and no hassles what so ever. I think they take care of the customer very well. Also they replaced my XBox no problem. Plus the Panamax surge/power conditioner claims to cover components attached to it.But would not want to count on that.I did put the reciept up in a safe place just in case however.
  22. I just went with a 49'' 4k Sony XBR49X830C and added a Sony sound bar 300 watt HTCT380 took the 5 year protection agreement that cover surges and also added a Panamax surge/power conditioner model MB-AV-PRO. Not sure if I will get any advantage from the 4k but atleast its there for the future.
  23. I was in the market for a new TV to replace one of my 32'' Sony's with something around 50''But have since decided to keep what I have. After researching it seems the new ones break down and do not hold up.I will keep what I have until one dies and I feel that will be long after what something new will last.Sound like the Chinese Gremlins have taken over the TV industry.Heck I did not know there was such a thing as a TV repair shop working on sets everyday.I thought you hooked a new one up and you ran it until you wanted something different in about 10 years. Then had the old one sitting in storage until you gave it away to a recycle center.
  24. I use to do it.But not the last few years. There are just way to many human ''Tools'' for me out there. My trust in people and crowds these days is not very high.Plus I do not like what it has become. It has Gobbled up Thanksgiving and the meaning of Thanksgiving.Family morals went right out the window about the same time Black Friday became popular.I hate to be doom and gloom. But I think we will see metal detectors in the big box stores before we know it.
